Starting date: January 2026 in Barcelona Company THE GLOBAL SPRINGBOARD FOR YOUNG CHANGE LEADERS #YCM (ycmchallenge.org) is a global platform that empowers young changemakers from all over the world to co-create innovative solutions for pressing issues and opportunities they see around them, to make their voices be heard and to take action launching tangible impact ventures. With a community from over 80 countries, #YCM aims to be the global reference for emerging young changemakers, help them grow their potential and go to scale! At the same time, #YCM connects NGOs, corporations and public entities with the most dynamic and engaged representatives of Gen Z, lets them get challenged through the youth perspective and collaborate for a positive future. We run annual cycles to scout and empower emerging young changemakers, the next is starting in January 2026. Given our strategic advisory background, we also are a think tank developing though leadership around the central vision of Planetary Citizenship that we wish to promote on a global scale among education institutions, NGOs, policy makers and global corporations. Apart from our own initiative #YCM, we also collaborate with NGOs and foundations to develop support systems for young impact entrepreneurs, as well as with global corporations, through our YCM Lab offering: Your missions This is more than the usual internship: as part of the team, you will have clearly defined roles with assigned responsibilities and plenty of space to prove your drive and initiative, in two main areas: #YCM ● Further shape our next edition of the YCM Challenge in early 2026, especially the use of design-based methodologies for our young change makers, helping to develop the “#YCM Playbook” ● Develop mobilization and promotional materials for the YCM Challenge 2026 ● Create and manage social media content to boost engagement and visibility (Instagram and LinkedIn) ● Refresh the #YCM Website and curate conten ● Coach young changemaker teams and participating entities (e.g. universities) ● Co-organize Workshops and develop supporting materials Planetary Citizenship Think Tank ● Support the development of our thought leadership in Planetary Citizenship through field research, interviews and co-creation sessions ● Develop high impact communication from visual storytelling and videos to high profile events and social media ● Help promote our though leadership at international events and conferences To make your internship even more complete, you will have the opportunity to collaborate in 1 or 2 other projects related to learning innovation and impact entrepreneurship. In this role, you may engage in a diverse range of tasks, including participation in design thinking stages, conducting user research, developing concepts, and engaging in prototyping and testing processes. Who we're looking for We're looking for a person with a design background who is passionate about social innovation and making a positive impact in society, interested in joining our dynamic and international team. Essential: ● at least 3-4 years into studies, bachelor or master from a leading design school with a clear focus on “impact design” (e.g. strategic design, innovation and entrepreneurship, service design, UX,…) ● creative with strong visual design, video making and communication skills (please share some work samples) ● self-led and proactive, gets things done And also: ● works well as a team as well as individually ● clear oral, written and visual communication ● 2 or 3 previous work experiences ● excellent English level (C1 minimum) having studied or worked in the language ● is available for an internship in Barcelona ideally through a university agreement We favor long-term internships of 6 months or more. As a small team, we rely on self-driven persons that learn fast, are proactive and can assume responsibilities for their work beyond a traditional “intern” role.
