As Manager Shipping EMEA (Spain), you are responsible for the end-to-end management of maritime transport activities within the region, including freight contracting, voyage execution, laytime management, and regional freight market intelligence. The role supports third-party (3P) commercial activities and regional supply chain operations by ensuring reliable and cost-effective maritime transport aligned with business requirements. The position reports to the Global Head of Shipping and has direct impact on regional freight cost, service reliability, and operational performance. Main Responsibilities • Lead and develop a regional team (2–3 direct reports)., • Lead regional freight contracting (spot and period charters)., • Manage voyage execution, operational performance, and cost control., • Oversee laytime calculations, demurrage claims, and dispute resolution., • Provide regional freight market intelligence to support commercial and operational decisions., • Support 3P commercial activities through transport structuring and execution., • Work closely with regional Supply Chain and key stakeholders, including Traders, Supply Chain VCs, and Procurement VCs., • Participate in the Global Shipping budgeting process; prepare and manage the regional freight budget., • Ensure compliance with global shipping policies and governance standards., • Drive cost optimization and operational discipline within the region., • Lead and develop a regional team (2–3 direct reports)., • Travel to operations, key ports, and industry forums as required., • Approve regional freight fixtures within delegated authority limits., • Negotiate charter party terms in line with established commercial parameters., • Escalate strategic contracting decisions to the Global Head of Shipping as required. Academic Background • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Maritime Studies, Engineering, Economics or related field required., • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain or related discipline preferred. Languages • Spanish and English advanced professional proficiency required., • Additional languages considered an advantage. Experience 5 years of experience in: • Drybulk maritime transportation, freight contracting, voyage management, laytime and demurrage handling., • Ample knowledge of the drybulk market, its fundamentals and players., • Direct international negotiation experience with shipowners and brokers., • Experience managing freight budgets and operating in volatile freight environments required. Main tasks and responsabilities are: · Review of Project Specifications (Manufacturing, quality Control). Detection of Quality Control requirements to be included in the Purchase Orders (POs). · Internal review of Quality Control requirements included in the POs before its issuance to the Vendors. · Review and comment Vendor manufacturing documents of the assigned Purchase Orders (e.g. Reactors, Columns, Pressure Vessels, Heat Exchangers, Air Coolers, Fired Heaters, Reformers, Package Units, Piping Material, Electrical Equipment, Instruments, MAC/DCS, etc.). Main documents are: Inspection and Test Plan (ITP), Manufacturing Purchase Specification, Test Procedures, Visual/Dimensional Control Procedure, Final Quality Dossier, etc. · Plan, coordinate and schedule workshop inspection visits with all Inspection Representatives (Vendor, TR, Client). · To lead the Pre-Inspection Meetings for the applicable POs. · To request (internally and to external Inspection Agencies) and select adequate inspectors to cover all related inspection activities according to the applicable ITPs. · Handling of Notification Of Inspections (NOIs) with all involved parties (Vendor, TR, Client) · To attend to critical Inspection Visits when needed · Review, control and distribution of Inspection Reports · Managing of NCRs with Engineering, Vendor and Client · Participate in meetings with the rest of Project Areas and Disciplines (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) as needed. Team working with Technical Departments and with the rest of the Project Inspection Team. · To deal with Client Inspection Representatives, attending meetings with them when necessary. · To have a fluent communication with Vendors in order to assure that Vendor understand all comments and Project requirements, with the aim to achieve a smooth manufacturing process. We require: · Bachelor's Degree in mechanical engineering / Diploma or Equivalent. · 5+ years’ experience in quality control of manufacturing and welding processes of static equipment, valve and piping components. GENERAL DESCRIPTION Ocean Winds is expanding its operational footprint and is seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to lead the oversight and delivery of long-term Operations & Maintenance (O&M) contracts across its OW portfolio. This role will ensure commercial excellence, contractual compliance, and strategic alignment with the company’s objectives.
