Scopely is seeking a Principal Systems Designer to join our Stumble Guys team! Stumble Guys is one of our most recent hits, with millions of fans joining the party every single day, constantly keeping it at the top of the charts in over 50 countries and with the ambition of becoming nothing less than a beloved franchise and to be played for many years to come. This is a high-impact role designed for a system architect, someone who thrives at the intersection of high-level creative game design and deep economy modeling. Unlike traditional economy roles that focus primarily on optimisation, this position is about building the foundational systems that drive our core and meta-loops. You will serve as the glue between our Product, Economy, and Game Design teams, ensuring that every feature is cohesive, aligned with our meta‑progression goals, and optimised for long‑term player engagement and monetisation. This role is strategically positioned within the product organisation with a clear and accelerated growth path. We are looking for a leader who can not only design systems but also elevate the entire team's design standards and systemic thinking. You will be instrumental in breaking down silos between departments, ensuring that the economy team's mathematical rigor is perfectly balanced with the intended psychological experience and feel of the game. What You Will Do System architecture: Lead the design of systems across the game team, ensuring all features are cohesive and aligned with the game's core and meta‑loops. You will build systems that translate directly into new features or rebalance existing ones to improve engagement. Cross‑functional synergy: Act as the primary bridge between the economy, product, and game design teams. You will collaborate closely with Game Designers to ensure feature complementarity and work with Product Managers to align design with business goals. LiveOps & Meta‑Loops: Focus on the meta‑loops as the core supporting structure of the game. You will collaborate with our Product Performance team in tuning our LiveOps strategy to reflect the intended player experience, ensuring seasonal content and events drive meaningful progression and align with the overall game economy system. Technological innovation: Spearhead the adoption and direction of the latest technology and AI‑driven methodologies to translate complex systems into actionable economy tools and simulations. What We're Looking For We are looking for a candidate who possesses a unique blend of creative intuition and analytical rigor. The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria: Experience: 5+ years of experience in mobile F2P system design, with a proven track record of designing and maintaining complex economies in high‑growth environments. Experience with games featuring layered progression systems, such as casual action‑combat or real‑time strategy card battler titles, is highly preferred. Strategic modelling skills: Advanced proficiency in mathematical modelling and simulation using Excel, Google Sheets, or any tool of choice. You should be comfortable predicting the impact of features on game balance and player behaviour through data‑driven simulations. Systems thinking: A strong ability to visualise and document the big picture of how various game systems interact. You should be capable of translating high‑level product goals into detailed technical specifications. Clear communication: Mastery in articulating complex system design concepts to diverse stakeholders. You must be able to influence the product roadmap with innovative, data‑driven design proposals. Tech‑savvy: A deep interest in the intersection of design and technology, including the use of AI for automation and the development of internal design tools to streamline workflows.
