About SeqeraSeqera is on a mission to empower scientists and organizations to solve humanity’s biggest challenges through data-driven science. As the company behind Nextflow and the Seqera Platform, we enable global enterprises, biotech innovators, academic institutions, and public sector organizations to scale complex data workflows with confidence. We’re a global, remote-friendly team with headquarters in Barcelona and colleagues across the US, UK, and beyond. As we continue to grow, we’re strengthening our internal foundations - and that’s where you come in.About the roleWe are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Unified Compute team and take ownership of the application layer that turns computational capability into something our customers can configure, run, and pay for - spanning Seqera Intelligent Compute, its integration with the Seqera Platform, and the metering and billing that sits behind them. This layer is essential to our customer-facing platform's operational success: it determines whether biotech innovators and researchers can set up the compute they need, run their workloads reliably wherever they run them, and see transparent, accurate insight into what they used and what it cost. You will help shape a backend that supports compute environment provisioning across AWS, Azure, GCP, Kubernetes, HPC schedulers and GPU executions; multi-tenant usage tracking and accurate billing computation across cloud and on-prem deployments; and the pay-as-you-go and free-tier onboarding journeys that bring new users onto the platform. The role spans high-impact engineering work - from system architecture design to data modeling, cloud provider integrations, and API development - using JVM technologies (Java, Groovy, Micronaut). You will be empowered to influence our architecture decisions, improve the lifecycle of compute provisioning and billing processes, and collaborate closely with product, platform, and infrastructure teams to deliver world-class engineering outcomes. It is a broad scope, and you will own it end to end, with three engineers alongside you in the team to lean on for the hardest calls. What You'll DoBuild and own the integration between Seqera Intelligent Compute and the Seqera Platform.Own Platform compute environments: let customers set up and run compute across AWS, Azure and GCP, Kubernetes, HPC schedulers, and GPU-enabled executions - and handle the ways those backends differ.Build against cloud provider APIs and SDKs, and handle what the real world returns: partial failures, quota and permission errors, provider quirks that leak into the product.Own the billing and pay-as-you-go path - metering usage accurately, keeping usage events and invoices reconcilable, and making the free-user onboarding journey work.Design data models and APIs that stay consistent across services and releases.Make failures legible: turn raw provider and scheduler errors into something a user can act on, and add the tests and observability that make the next incident faster to diagnose.Work directly with the Platform and product teams, and with support on escalations from real customers.Take design decisions within your scope and document the system so it is not dependent on any one person.About you4+ years building and operating production backend services, with real ownership of at least one.Strong in Java and/or Groovy, with Micronaut, Spring Boot or similar.Real hands-on experience with a major cloud provider's API - provisioning and managing resources programmatically, not just deploying to it.Have worked with Kubernetes as somewhere workloads actually run.You care about correctness. Ideally you have worked on billing, metering or other systems where wrong data has consequences - and if not, you bring the same rigour to data integrity anyway.Comfortable designing REST APIs and data models, and keeping integrations working across versions and failures.Have been accountable for something customer-facing in production.Comfortable inheriting a system, asking questions, and writing down what was never documented.Comfortable with ambiguity - you develop hypotheses with limited information, drive work independently, and reach out early to stay unblocked. We use AI every day and expect engineers to use it extensively. You do not need to be an expert, but you must be genuinely open to it.Nice to have:Multiple clouds - hands-on across two or more of AWS, Azure, GCP.HPC and batch schedulers (Slurm, LSF, PBS, AWS Batch, Google Batch, Azure Batch).GPU workloads and GPU-enabled provisioning.Usage-based billing or monetization platforms (Metronome, Stripe) and pay-as-you-go pricing.Self-serve or free-tier product work: signup funnels, usage limits, conversion.Bioinformatics, Nextflow, or scientific computing background.Observability tooling (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK) and CI/CD ownership. Some frontend exposure (Angular).Open-source contributionsGreat benefitsTime off: 23 days for vacations per year, 3 days given by Seqera in December, and the national/public holidays according to your location.EquityPrivate health insurancePrivate life insuranceHome office allowance (valued over 1,000 USD)Subscription to Oliva, Mental Health AppLearning and development budget per year (1,000 USD)LocationBarcelona (Spain)Employment TypeFull timeDepartmentEngineering

As we continue to grow, we’re strengthening our internal foundations - and that’s where you come in.About the roleWe are looking for a Staff Software Engineer to join our Unified Compute team and take technical ownership of the low-level systems that power how scientific workloads run in the cloud. Our scheduling project (Sched) has gained real momentum, and we need a senior engineer to help build the ecosystem around it to the next level. The core of this role is deep in the stack — Fusion (a FUSE filesystem presenting cloud object storage as POSIX), Fusion Snapshots (CRIU-based checkpoint/restore that survives spot-instance reclamation), and Ignite (a container process manager) — with Sched as the orchestration layer that ties compute together. You'll also support adjacent services such as Groundswell (ML-based resource prediction) and Cloudinfo (multi-cloud pricing/metadata). It's a hands-on senior role with strong architectural influence. What You'll DoDesign, build, and own low-level systems across Fusion, Fusion Snapshots, Ignite, and Sched.Write reliable, well-tested code primarily in Go and C, with Rust and JVM (Groovy/Java, Micronaut) where the codebase calls for it.Work close to the OS: FUSE filesystems, Linux namespaces, CRIU checkpoint/restore, process supervision, signal handling, static musl builds.Tackle multi-cloud orchestration and scheduling: provider abstractions (AWS, Azure, GCP), instance selection, autoscaling, spot-instance fault tolerance, durable async queues.Drive performance engineering — chunked I/O, multi-level caching, buffer pools, bandwidth management.Set technical direction and raise the standard for testing, observability, and operational excellence.Mentor teammates and help onboard new engineers.About youDeep experience building production-grade systems software, with technical ownership at Staff level.Strong in Go and comfortable in C (or C++), close to the operating system.Solid Linux internals — filesystems, namespaces, processes, signals, networking — and comfortable debugging at that level.Built distributed and/or cloud-native systems and understand the failure modes of running across multiple clouds.Write simple, well-structured, well-tested code; optimize for clarity and debuggability.Comfortable with ambiguity and driving work independently. We use AI every day and expect engineers to use it extensively — you don't need to be an expert, but you must be genuinely open to it.Nice to have:CRIU / checkpoint-restore / process migration.FUSE or other filesystem/VFS work.Rust; JVM (Groovy/Java, Micronaut).Container runtimes, Docker internals, Kubernetes.HPC/Batch (AWS Batch, Google Batch, Azure Batch).Applied ML / data engineering (Groundswell); open-source systems contributions. What will you find working at Seqera?Flexible working hours.International working environment with more than 25 nationalities.Passionate & talented team.Continuous skills development.Team retreats and bonding activities.A culture where your opinion is valued and your decisions have a real impact on the industry.Excitement of a fast-growing startup in a constantly changing environment.Great benefitsTime off: 23 days for vacations per year, 3 days given by Seqera in December, and the national/public holidays according to your location.EquityPrivate health insurancePrivate life insuranceHome office allowance (valued over 1,000 USD)Subscription to Oliva, Mental Health AppLearning and development budget per year (1,000 USD)LocationBarcelona (Spain); Spain (Remote)Employment TypeFull timeDepartmentEngineering

Seqera is on a mission to empower scientists and organizations to solve humanity's biggest challenges through data-driven science. As the company behind Nextflow and the Seqera Platform, we enable global enterprises, biotech innovators, academic institutions, and public sector organizations to scale complex data workflows with confidence. We're a global, remote-friendly team with headquarters in Barcelona and colleagues across the US, UK, and beyond. As we continue to grow, we're strengthening our internal foundations - and that's where you come in. Seqera is hiring a full-time in-house lawyer. Legal work today is split between a fractional Head of Legal and external firms, and the volume has outgrown that setup. You will take on the day-to-day legal work, contracts above all, and build the systems that keep it running as the company grows. You will report into the fractional Head of Legal, so you have a senior lawyer to escalation to and learn from while owning your own desk from week one. As the legal function grows, so does the scope of this role. We're looking for a hands‑on qualified lawyer with 3 to 6 years' post-qualification experience who can draft and negotiate a SaaS agreement without close supervision, and who wants to broaden into privacy, employment, IP and corporate work. You will work day to day with Sales, Finance, Product, Engineering, IT & Compliance and People, helping the company move fast while staying protected. You will run commercial contracting and legal operations end to end, and support the Head of Legal on corporate governance, data privacy (working closely with Seqera's IT & Compliance team and external providers such as our external DPO), employment, IP and compliance. Draft, review and negotiate customer agreements, MSAs, DPAs, SaaS terms, NDAs, partner and vendor contracts. This is the bulk of the job. Run deals with Sales and Revenue from first draft to signature, escalating the harder points. Develop and maintain contract templates, fallback positions, and playbooks to accelerate deal cycles. Provide pragmatic, business-oriented advice on contract interpretation and risk. Review procurement/vendor/advisor contracts as required. Set up and run contract lifecycle management: one repository, clear naming, version control, renewal and expiry tracking. Automate the routine work: self‑serve NDAs, approval routing, standard clause libraries. Report on contract volumes, cycle times and open matters. Assist with entity management, corporate filings and board documentation. Support equity, compensation, and cap table-related processes in collaboration with Finance and People. Help maintain internal policies and compliance frameworks. Support audit readiness and regulatory requirements across jurisdictions. Handle the legal input into customer security and procurement reviews. Support data privacy and data protection work (GDPR and global frameworks) alongside IT & Compliance and our external DPO. Partner with Security and Engineering on compliance initiatives. Maintain records of processing, DPAs and the sub‑processor list. Handle day-to-day IP and licensing questions, including open source licensing, and flag the novel ones early. Partner with Product and Engineering on new features, ensuring legal and regulatory alignment. 3-6 years of post-qualification experience (in‑house tech/SaaS and/or private practice). Qualified to practise law in a relevant jurisdiction. Hands‑on commercial contracting experience, ideally within SaaS, tech or high‑growth environments. You have negotiated these agreements yourself. Exposure to at least one area beyond contracting (privacy, corporate, IP or compliance), and the appetite to pick up the rest. Working knowledge of GDPR. Experience in a startup, scale‑up, or international business environment with venture capital experience is highly preferred. Commercially minded with a strong ability to balance risk and opportunity. Comfortable operating in ambiguity and making pragmatic decisions quickly. Hands‑on and execution‑focused, with a willingness to build from scratch. Strong stakeholder management and communication skills. Highly organized with a process‑oriented mindset. Fast and responsive. Deals wait on legal more than on any other function, and you know what that costs. Comfortable asking for help on matters outside your experience, and quick to elevate. Builder mentality: you enjoy creating structure where none exists. Business partner first, not just a gatekeeper. Autonomous and proactive, with strong ownership. Practical, solutions‑driven, and low ego. Experience supporting global, distributed teams. Familiarity with legal tech, CLMs, and AI‑enabled workflows. Exposure to life sciences, biotech, or data‑driven platforms. Seqera is proud to be an equal‑opportunity employer. About SeqeraSeqera is on a mission to empower scientists and organizations to solve humanity’s biggest challenges through data-driven science. As the company behind Nextflow and the Seqera Platform, we enable global enterprises, biotech innovators, academic institutions, and public sector organizations to scale complex data workflows with confidence.About the roleWe are hiring a Research Engineer to own the improvement loop for a research engine we are building on top of the Seqera Platform. You will build the data and evaluation flywheel from engine’ own run data, and use it to post-train small, task‑specific models that make it better at generating, ranking and running scientific ideas. You will work directly with our Founding Scientist and the engineers who own the application, on a small team that moves fast and ships to real scientists. This is an in‑office role in Barcelona. The team is here, the whiteboards are here, and this is the kind of work that goes faster in the same room. What You’ll DoDesign and build the evaluation suite that defines what “better” means for an autonomous research agent.Build the pipeline that turns messy, real‑world run data from deployments into a training‑ready corpus.Post‑train small open‑weight models — SFT, preference tuning, adapters — to beat frontier‑API baselines on core tasks at lower cost and latency.Run repeated training cycles on evolving data.Participate in journal clubs, stay at the frontier of post‑training specialized models.Own the Next‑Gen roadmap with our Founding Scientist: what data unlocks what capability, and in what order.About youYou have post‑trained open‑weight language models — SFT and at least one preference‑tuning method — and put the results in front of real users, not just in a notebook. You have retrained models on changing data more than once and have dealt with regression and forgetting in practice: replay, data mixing, adapter strategies, eval gating. You have built evaluation harnesses for a specific task, defined the metric yourself, and defended the result to someone sceptical. You work fluently in Python with the modern stack — PyTorch, transformers, TRL, PEFT, vLLM or their equivalents.Your open‑source footprint speaks for you: substantive contributions to the tools above, or fine‑tuned models on the Hub.You are an operator. When the pipeline you need does not exist, you build it. You are comfortable when the data, the tooling and the direction are all incomplete at the same time. You want to work in‑office in Barcelona, or you are ready to move here.Nice to haveComputational biology, chemistry or pharma exposure.Familiarity with Nextflow or workflow orchestration.Experience evaluating agentic, multi‑step, tool‑using systems.Distillation or small‑model specialisation from frontier models.Publications or technical reports in post‑training or continual learning.Don't meet every single requirement? At Seqera, we are dedicated to building a diverse, inclusive and authentic workplace, so if you’re excited about this role and your past experience doesn’t align perfectly with every qualification in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyway. Comfort reading dashboards in a tool like Looker Studio is expected. Guide Client POCs & Junior Team Members : Guide Client POCs and junior team members as they build expertise, while retaining individual ownership of your own accounts. Given a problem, investigate it, propose a course of action, follow through, and close the loop with stakeholders without needing reminders. WHAT YOU'LL NEED: 5+ years of hands-on experience in paid user acquisition / performance marketing, for mobile apps, with a track record of demonstrable results (efficiency gains, scaled spend, measurable campaign impact) you can speak to concretely. Solid app-specific paid UA fluency : including GAC, Meta Ads, Apple Search Ads, SDKs, SKAN, and MMP concepts. Hands-on attribution/MMP experience : comfortable troubleshooting tracking and attribution issues directly. Genuine confidence leading client meetings : with a track record of proactively driving conversations and pushing back on client asks when warranted. Independent data interpretation skills : able to arrive at a point of view and recommendation grounded in the numbers. Fluent in English, with excellent written and spoken client communication skills and being able to simplify technical concepts for less growth-literate stakeholders without losing substance. A demonstrated track record of proactive ownership : able to walk through a real past troubleshooting or client-management example. NICE TO HAVE: Experience with kids/family-audience apps or highly regulated/brand-sensitive clients Familiarity with programmatic/DSP media buying is a big plus. Experience working alongside a dedicated data/attribution specialist : comfortable collaborating closely with a technical counterpart.
