Company: Eurofins MITOX B.V. Science Park 408, 1098 XH, Amsterdam, Netherlands Brief background: Eurofins Mitox is an international consultancy company based in the Netherlands (with offices in France and Germany) which performs wildlife studies following the Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) standard. Studies can be varied: biodiversity programs, Environmental Risk Assessment of phytosanitary products, monitoring studies or collaborations with other organizations. The general objective of the studies is to monitor bird species and/or small mammal species in agricultural landscapes, using direct observations as well as different trapping methods. Location of work: Spain, Salamanca or Zamora-León Duration: • Salamanca: 07.04 - 05.05, • Zamora-León: 30.03 - 05.05 Timetables: Around 8 h/day (depending on workload and fieldwork conditions), 6 days/week. Depending on study type, working shifts will be adapted to the animal group characteristics (e.g. early morning, late evening, night shifts may be required). Contract and salary: A freelancer contract with Eurofins Mitox (Amsterdam) is offered. The applicant must be willing to register as a freelancer in their home country, although in special circumstances other options can be discussed. Salary level is offered depending on profile, skills and experience. Other conditions: Working cars, travel expenses (two-way) and accommodation within the study area are provided by the company. Material needed for the work is also provided. Meal costs and private trips are not covered. Job description: Working tasks can include different methods for mammal observations and mammal trapping. Other tasks can include habitat mapping, monitoring of agricultural crops, arthropods trapping and sorting and, in every case, computer work (as data entry or QGIS work). Other tasks may arise within the post at various times. Personal requirements: The ideal candidate has • Good identification skills of mammal species. Having mammal trapping experience will be considered an asset., • Fluent English, oral and written., • Strong motivation for working in the field. Many hours outside and sometimes under harsh weather conditions should be acceptable., • Able to work independently but also show flexibility as part of an international team, • Positive attitude towards shared living arrangements and communal living activities., • A full and clean driving license is required., • Motivation for precise data collection.
