ph3❓ About SiPearl /h3 pSiPearl is the European fabless designer of sovereign bsecure high-performance /b energy‑efficient CPUs for HPC, AI and data centres. These CPUs will help address strategic challenges in the fields of security, defence, medical research, energy, climate and engineering with a reduced environmental footprint. /p pIn June 2025, SiPearl completed the design of the most complex CPU ever designed in Europe, Rhea1, featuring 80 Arm Neoverse V1 cores and 61 billion transistors. The chip is currently in production at TSMC and will equip the first two European exascale supercomputers: Rhea1 will be integrated into the JUPITER machine based in Germany and Rhea2 will be part of Alice Recoque in France. /p pIncubated within the European Processor Initiative (EPI) Consortium and seed‑funded by the European Union, SiPearl employs almost 200 people in the following locations: /p ul liFrance – Maisons‑Laffitte, Grenoble, Massy, Sophia Antipolis /li liSpain – Barcelona /li liItaly – Bologna /li /ul pFollowing a €130 million Series A, the company has launched its Series B round. /p h3 Missions /h3 pThe Security Protocol and Data Model (SPDM) protocol provides a standardised method for secure authentication, attestation, and key exchange between platform components. Although SPDM support is optional at the BMC M3 level, demonstrating compatibility will highlight SiPearl’s commitment to modern platform‑security standards. /p pThe objective of this internship is to implement support for the SPDM protocol on the BMC and develop a client‑side testing tool to verify and validate the protocol implementation. This work may involve extending existing internal SiPearl tools and integrating with the OpenBMC ecosystem. /p pA secondary objective is to structure the testing tool so that it can be shared with the OpenBMC community as an open‑source validation utility promoted by SiPearl. /p h3During This Internship, You Will /h3 ul liInvestigate the current status of Security Protocol and Data Model (SPDM) development within the OpenBMC community. /li liImplement or integrate SPDM support on the BMC where required. /li liIdentify and develop missing features necessary for protocol verification. /li liDevelop a client‑side test tool capable of simulating the SPDM protocol counterpart. /li liApply coding standards and software‑development best practices. /li liProduce technical documentation describing the implementation and usage of the tool. /li liCreate demonstration materials such as tutorials, videos, or wiki pages. /li liPublish the client tool on GitHub for the benefit of the OpenBMC open‑source community. /li /ul h3 What makes you a good match for the role /h3 ul liStudent in the final year of an engineering school or pursuing a master’s degree in electronics, computer engineering, or a related field. /li liHighly motivated with the ability to work in an international, multidisciplinary environment. /li liExperience with Linux and Bash scripting. /li liProgramming skills in C and C++. /li liInterest in open‑source software and collaborative development (e.g. GitHub). /li liInterest in embedded firmware development and low‑level systems. /li liGood written and spoken English. /li /ul h3 Location: Castelldefels /h3 pSiPearl is the European fabless designer of sovereign bsecure high-performance /b energy‑efficient CPUs for HPC, AI and data centres.
