Becoming a Virtual PA changed my life

I have always been a very self-motivated person – both in my everyday life and in my work life. Throughout my career I had mostly worked as a receptionist and a PA at various corporate firms. At every job I’d ever had I’d always felt restricted by my role. I had all of the dedication and motivation to deliver above and beyond the expectations my employees had for me, but I wasn’t able to fulfil those tasks for more rewards and take flexi-time when I needed it.

I also knew that if and when I decide to have children, it would difficult to maintain a casual role in an office like this, and I would sacrifice spending time with my children if I carried on working in an office.

Then one of my colleagues told me about becoming a virtual PA. She had thought about it, but was too scared to go through with it as her and her husband depended on her income. I told her that I’d do it if she did it. So, we quit our jobs and I became a virtual PA.

I have been working as a virtual PA for two years now, and it has given me so much freedom, great flexibility, and a more enjoyable lifestyle.

I am able to create my own schedule and work when I want. I am able to work for a fashion company I adore, rather than have to take the first job that comes my way. I am much happier in my everyday life, and have even built my own work-from-home office space.

I’ve also had a child, and am able to take him to playgroups and on days out without having to let work know months in advance. That makes me even happier. Not only do I love my job, but I also get to share it with my new and growing family.
