At JOB TODAY we believe that you are much more than your CV… and also much more than your looks: you are a unique human being and it’s your personality that should make all the difference during the interview not your outfit. It’s not about packaging, but the content.
Therefore: It’s ok to wear your cleavage in a job interview if you feel comfortable and confident, same on heels and short skirts, if that’s what you want to wear.
I love wearing heels myself and could feel less at ease in a interview if I had to wear flats… also if I like wearing heels, why would I force myself on wearing something else just because I want to make an “right” impression? What’s right about it ?
Besides – how silly is the entire approach to streamline people’s outfits?
People express themselves in the way they dress, the way they style their hair, which handbag they pick to go with their outfit…
Trying to fit those individual personal styles in predefined template of “ approved” looks – is that not a bit outdated in the modern cosmopolitan open minded world we live in?
We should be celebrating this diversity, colorfulness, individualism, creativity – as that makes part of our uniqueness as human beings.
Then of course there is relevance – whatever you wear you definitely should think about your comfort: just making sure you have the right gear for your day. (If you are going for a run, make sure you are wearing running shoes).
So bottom line : BE YOURSELF and you will do just fine! It’s your personality, skills and talents that will get you the job you like – not your skirt or cleavage.
