Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Jr Sous Chef role based at London Steak House Company in the City of London. The Jr Sous Chef will support the Head Chef & Sous Chef in managing day-to-day kitchen operations, including overseeing food preparation, cooking, plating, and service to ensure consistent quality and timely execution. Working across all sections. Responsibilities include supervising and mentoring kitchen team members, organizing section setup, and coordinating service during busy periods. The role involves maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen cleanliness, as well as monitoring stock levels, assisting with ordering, and minimizing waste. The Jr Sous Chef will also contribute to menu development, support training of new team members, and step in for the Head Chef or Sous Chef when required. Qualifications • Proven experience as a Jr Sous Chef or strong Chef de Partie (if your ready for your next step up)experience in a high-volume, quality-focused restaurant, ideally with steakhouse or grill experience., • Solid skills in grilling, sauce preparation, and classic cooking techniques, with strong attention to flavor, presentation, and portion control., • Demonstrated ability to supervise and motivate a diverse kitchen team, delegate tasks effectively, and maintain calm, professional behavior under pressure., • Thorough understanding of food safety, HACCP, and kitchen hygiene standards, with a track record of maintaining a clean, organized, and compliant kitchen., • Strong organizational and time-management skills, including the ability to prioritize prep, manage multiple orders, and coordinate with front-of-house teams., • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required in a hospitality environment., • Relevant culinary qualification or formal chef training is preferred; equivalent proven experience will also be considered., • Right to work in the UK and fluency in spoken English to ensure clear communication with team members and management.
