Commis Chef - MHG - London

We are a busy Central London based bar group. We are looking for a creative, proactive intern to support a series of short-term hospitality and event projects, including themed pop-ups (such as a Mediterranean Lemon Festival), wine bar concepts, and experiential brand collaborations. This role is ideal for someone passionate about design, AI tools, interiors, events, and marketing, who enjoys turning ideas into visual concepts quickly. You’ll work closely with the founder on concept creation, visuals, and presentation materials, helping bring hospitality ideas to life. Key Responsibilities Create AI-generated visuals for: Event concepts & themed pop-ups Interior décor ideas (wine bars, cafés, pop-ups) Styling, lighting, mood, and atmosphere Develop mood boards and concept decks for: Event themes (e.g. Lemon Festival, seasonal activations) Interior redesigns and décor installations Assist with marketing materials, including: Social media visuals Posters, flyers, menus, and simple animations Support event planning concepts, including: Décor layouts Visual storytelling for pitches and partners Help prepare presentation decks for landlords, brands, and collaborators Skills & Experience Essential: Strong visual eye and interest in design, interiors, and events Experience using AI design tools (e.g. Midjourney, DALL·E, Firefly, etc.) Comfortable with Canva, Adobe, or similar design platforms Good organisation and ability to manage short, fast-moving projects Nice to have: Interest in hospitality, wine, food, or experiential events Social media or content creation experience Interior design, fashion, or visual arts background Ability to quickly translate ideas into visuals What You’ll Gain Hands-on experience in real hospitality and event projects Creative freedom and direct collaboration with the founder Portfolio-worthy work across events, interiors, and branding Insight into pop-ups, partnerships, and experiential marketing Paid role with flexible working structure Who This Is Perfect For Design, interior, fashion, or creative students/graduates AI-savvy creatives wanting real-world projects Someone who loves atmosphere, storytelling, and visuals A self-starter who enjoys bringing concepts to life fast

We are looking for a passionate and motivated Pastry Chef to join our team at Belle Epoque Patisserie. As a Pastry Chef, you will have to: Prepare pastries, including preparing dough and fillings, proofing, baking, and decorating as appropriate. Review Production sheet to understand variety of baked goods to be produced daily. Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality and presentation standards. Safely and appropriately use baking and measuring tools/equipment/appliances to prepare baked foods. Follow and ensure compliance with food safety handling policies and procedures, including personal hygiene procedures. Check and ensure correct temperatures of kitchen appliances and food, and report issues to the Chef. Monitor the quality of food prepared and portions served. 1. Role Purpose To lead the Larder and Production section, ensuring all cold and prep-heavy elements meet exact standards. This role acts as the “engine room” for the kitchen, providing high-quality salads and prepped components that allow the main service to run smoothly under the Head Chef. 2. Core Responsibilities (The Management Pillar) Section Ownership: Take full responsibility for the larder station, ensuring it is set up and ready for service daily. Commercial Awareness: Monitor portion control and maintain accurate waste logs for your section to ensure the kitchen meets its Gross Profit (GP) targets. Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor Kitchen Assistants or Commis Chefs, ensuring they follow your prep lists and quality standards. Stock Management: Perform daily stock checks; communicate ordering requirements for fresh produce, dry goods, and specialty ingredients to the Head Chef. 3. Daily Operational Tasks (Your Specific Checklist) High-Volume Prep: Execute the daily prep list with precision, ensuring all “larder” tasks are completed before transitioning to support the Head Chef with main cookery. Recipe Adherence: Produce all salads and cold items strictly according to stored recipes, using scales to weigh ingredients as per job sheets for 100% consistency. Specialty Production: Maintain levels of all “House” items, including proprietary dressings, pickles, and ferments. Kitchen Support: Provide active support to the Head Chef and other team members when needed. 4. Due Diligence & Hygiene Section Cleanliness: Maintain a high standard of hygiene on your section and take ownership of the organisation and shelving within the walk-in fridge. Compliance Paperwork: Complete all daily “Due Diligence” logs, including core temperature checks, cooling logs, and labelling (complying with Natasha’s Law). Food Safety: Ensure all ingredients are stored correctly (FIFO) and that cross-contamination risks are managed at all times
