We are a very small family run Italian restaurant based near to Liverpool Street Station. We are looking for a full time chef, working in a very small team of just two chefs. Together you will be responsible for everything in the kitchen from food preparation, deliveries, orders, hygiene, cooking all dishes in service, cleaning of kitchen including pots and pans and deep cleaning of the kitchen once a week. You need to therefore be clean, hygienic and work in a professional manner. You need to also be able to work calmly under pressure as well as work with quick based energy and enthusiasm. You will need to be a quick learner and we will teach you all our menu dishes (which change frequently) and how we work. Whilst this remains your primary job role, from time to time you may also need to support other operations within the business including but not limited to the roles of Host, Barista, Kitchen Porter or Waiter. There is a requirement from all employees to offer a flexible availability including the necessity to work night shifts. Multi-lingual candidates preferred but not essential.

The Head Chef supervises the food prep and cooking, maintaining a fully stocked kitchen inventory and complying with safety and cleanliness standards. To be successful in this role, you should be able to manage the kitchen staff and guide them to deliver quality food on time. Working 45/48 hours x week (5 day / 2 days off) You will ensure all plates are properly cooked and served for our customers to have a pleasant dining experience. Responsibilities: Manage kitchen staff and coordinate food orders and quality check Supervise food prep and cooking Check food plating and temperature and quality freshness Establish portion sizes Schedule kitchen staff shifts Order food supplies and kitchen equipment, under supervision Train kitchen staff on prep work and food plating techniques Store food products in compliance with safety practices (e.g. in refrigerators) Keep weekly and monthly cost reports Maintain sanitation and safety standards in the kitchen area Requirements and skills: Proven work experience as a Kitchen Manager, Restaurant Manager or Head Chef Knowledge of Italian cuisine Familiarity with kitchen sanitation and safety regulations Excellent organisational skills Conflict management abilities Ability to manage a team in a fast-paced work environment Flexibility to work during evenings and weekends ELIGIBILITY: In line with the requirements of the Asylum & Immigration Act 1996, all applicants must be eligible to live and work in the UK.
