About the role The European Leadership Network (ELN) is an independent, non-partisan organisation working to provide practical, real-world solutions to political and security challenges and build better security for wider Europe. Effective financial and operational management is central to ensuring that we can deliver this work sustainably and meet our responsibilities as a charity and grant-funded organisation. The Finance & Operations Officer plays a key role in supporting the effective day-to-day financial and operational management of the ELN. Working closely with the Head of HR & Operations, Senior Management Team and our external accountants, the post holder will help maintain an accurate and up-to-date picture of the organisation’s finances, including managing and monitoring organisational and project budgets, cashflow, expenditure, payments and financial information held within Xero. The role requires strong financial and organisational skills, with particular experience of working with budgets and grant-funded activity. The successful candidate will be confident working with financial information, able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines, and proactive in identifying discrepancies, emerging pressures or areas requiring attention. They will also provide support across the ELN’s wider operations and governance, helping to ensure that our systems and processes are efficient, accurate and appropriate for a small and internationally focused charity. Key Responsibilities: *Finance, Budgets & Grants* · Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in Xero, including processing and monitoring invoices, bills, payments and expenditure, and ensuring transactions are appropriately recorded and allocated. · Develop and maintain organisational, project and grant budgets, working with colleagues to build realistic budgets for funding applications and new projects. · Monitor actual expenditure against budgets throughout the year, identifying variances, potential overspends or underspends and emerging financial pressures, and raising these with the Head of HR & Operations and Senior Management Team as appropriate. · Maintain and regularly update the organisation’s cash flow forecast, incorporating anticipated grant income, expenditure, payroll, and other liabilities, and provide timely information on the ELN’s cash position. · Work closely with Programme Leads/Heads to help them understand and manage their project budgets and provide accurate financial information to support programme planning and delivery. · Support the financial management of ELN’s grants, including maintaining records of restricted and unrestricted funding, grant income, expenditure, payment schedules and financial reporting requirements. · Prepare financial information and reports for funders, including taking responsibility for financial reporting on grants where appropriate. · Work closely with the ELN’s external accountants, providing accurate and timely information for management accounts, year-end accounts, payroll and other financial requirements. · Coordinate monthly payroll information and staff expenses and ensure payments and associated records are processed accurately and on time. · Support the annual budgeting and forecasting process and preparation of financial information for SMT and the Board. Your key responsibilities As a Senior Manager you’ll typically be responsible for leading our client projects, shaping the deliverables, client relationships, and wider team, with the support and coaching of our directors and partners. You’ll also be involved in developing proposals and bids, and actively contribute to EY-Parthenon thought leadership and internal operational initiatives. This role will include: • Managing project teams of between 4 – 10 consultants, • Leading project workstreams in the development and implementation of strategic recommendations for clients., • Managing client relationships and ensuring the delivery of high-quality work that meets or exceeds client expectations., • Leading the problem-solving process, including defining key issues, conducting analysis, and synthesizing findings into actionable recommendations., • Coordinating and managing the work of junior team members, providing guidance, mentorship, and feedback to support their professional growth., • Actively contributing to business development efforts by identifying and pursuing new client opportunities, preparing proposals, and participating in pitch meetings., • Collaborating with other EY service lines to bring integrated solutions to clients and leverage the full capabilities of the firm., • Ensuring the team adheres to project timelines and budgets, and managing any risks or issues that arise during the course of the project., • Contributing to the development of EY-Parthenon’s internal knowledge base and thought leadership by sharing insights and best practices from client engagements., • Creating an inclusive culture throughout the team and within engagements Skills and attributes for success Successful candidates are intellectually curious, passionate about solving complex problems, hardworking, have an enthusiastic and approachable demeanour with an entrepreneurial mind-set. The ideal candidate will lead the design, build, and deployment of a Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operation solution for organisations that operate globally. This role involves collaborating closely with clients to understand their enterprise operations and delivering tailored solutions that enhance efficiency and accuracy. Key Responsibilities on Microsoft D365 stack • Lead the design and architecture of D365 Finance and SCM solutions to meet business requirements and enhance operational efficiency both for presales and delivery work., • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyse business requirements, translating them into technical specifications for presales and delivery work., • Develop and maintain architectural documentation, including system designs, integration diagrams, and data flow models., • Lead Architecture Review Boards or Design Authority governance forums, • Can identify and own technical delivery risks., • Oversee the implementation of D365, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards., • Provide technical leadership and guidance to project teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation., • Lead and review configuration, testing and documentation activities and if required provide recommendations and suggestions based on modern Microsoft best practices, • Well versed with Microsoft stack (Lifecycle Services, Business Process Catalogue, Task Guides, Office, MS Office etc, • Evaluate and recommend ERP software solutions, ensuring alignment with business objectives and industry leading practices., • Drive the presales phase of project and own the solution., • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, assessing their potential impact on the organisation., • Mentor and train junior team members, promoting knowledge sharing and professional development. Other Key areas • Stakeholder management and working collaboratively with Development and Testing teams to deliver high quality solutions that meet client and user business needs., • Able to lead multi geography teams to ensure project timelines are met, • Ability to manage near shore and off shore teams for build activities like configuration and testing, • Structured approach to problem-solving and project execution, • Excellent time management and communication skills, well organised, consistently meeting commitments and creating high level deliverables Must Haves • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus., • Strong understanding of business processes across various functions, including finance, supply chain, manufacturing, and human resources., • Lead as an architect at least 3 end to end AX/D365 global rollouts, • Lead at least 1 functional area on multi company and multi country roll out programs, • In-depth knowledge of ERP modules, functionalities, solution architecture and integration capabilities., • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and strategically., • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels., • Strong knowledge of scoping and estimation process.
