Full job description Part Time Beauty Therapist & Retail Skincare Advisor Location: Sutton, London Hours: 3 days per week (1.30pm - 5.30pm, about 13.5 hours per week with the option to scale up as demand grows) Pay : £13 to £13.50 per hour, depending on experience Additional pay: 10% commission on treatments personally performed About Skinfidence Skinfidence is a new skincare , haircare and clean beauty destination in Sutton, combining carefully curated skincare products with personalised advice, skin analysis and targeted beauty treatments. We are looking for a qualified Beauty Therapist who is equally comfortable providing treatments, advising customers and helping to run a beautiful retail space. This is a varied role for someone who genuinely loves skincare, understands different skin types and tones, especially black and brown skin tones and enjoys helping customers find solutions that work for them. What you’ll be doing Your time will be split between looking after the retail store and providing booked beauty treatments. Skincare & Retail • Welcome customers and understand their skincare concerns, • Provide personalised skincare and product recommendations, • Carry out skin consultations and support AI skin analysis, • Confidently explain and recommend products from our curated brands, • Process customer purchases and operate the till, • Keep the store clean, organised and beautifully presented, • Replenish products and help manage stock, • Work towards store sales targets, • Build relationships with customers and encourage repeat visits Beauty Treatments Depending on your qualifications and experience, you may provide: • Express facials, • Facial massage, • Lash lifts and tints, • Brow treatments, • LED facial treatments, • Other suitable express beauty treatments Our initial treatment offering will focus on services that can be delivered within our compact skincare studio, with the opportunity to expand the treatment menu as Skinfidence grows. What we’re looking for • Level 2 or Level 3 Beauty Therapy qualification, or equivalent, • Professional beauty treatment experience, • Strong knowledge of skincare and ingredients, • Experience and confidence working with Black, African and other melanin rich skin tones, • Understanding of concerns including hyperpigmentation, post inflammatory pigmentation, acne, uneven skin tone and dryness, • Excellent customer service and communication skills, • Comfortable recommending and selling skincare products, • High standards of hygiene and professionalism, • Reliable, organised and confident working independently, • Commercially minded and comfortable working towards sales targets Experience with facial treatments, skin analysis, lash treatments or facial massage would be particularly welcome. The person we’re looking for We want someone warm, knowledgeable and confident who can make customers feel comfortable asking questions about their skin. You should enjoy both sides of the role. On a quiet treatment day, you should be happy engaging customers, recommending products and looking after the store. When a treatment is booked, you should be confident switching into therapist mode and delivering an excellent client experience. Most importantly, we want someone who understands that skincare isn’t one size fits all and can confidently work with customers across different skin tones and concerns. We are a fast-growing business, and alongside the day-to-day salon, Williams & Hirst regularly hosts leading hair and beauty brands for events, education, launches and industry activations. We are now looking for a confident, highly organised and responsible Salon Coordinator to take ownership of the day-to-day coordination of the salon. The Role The Salon Coordinator is a key operational role within Williams & Hirst, working closely with and reporting directly to the Directors. You will be responsible for ensuring the salon runs smoothly day to day, including coordinating the Front of House team and managing their rota to ensure the salon is appropriately staffed. With 18 workstations, over 40 independent hairdressers and a constant flow of clients, deliveries, brands and events, this is a fast-paced role where excellent communication and organisation are essential. You must be able to work under pressure, prioritise quickly, take responsibility and make sensible decisions without needing constant direction. This is also a hands-on position. Whether it's dealing with an operational issue, supporting Front of House, completing a stock check, speaking with an independent hairdresser or making client refreshments during a busy period, we expect everyone to work together to maintain the standards of Williams & Hirst. You need to be able to remain calm, prioritise effectively and make decisions while continuing to deliver a high standard of service. Excellent spoken and written English is essential for this role, due to the level of daily communication required with clients, independent hairdressers, team members, Directors, brands, suppliers and external partners. You should be: • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail, • Confident working in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment, • Responsible, reliable and punctual, • Proactive — someone who sees what needs doing and does it, • Comfortable taking ownership and making day-to-day decisions, • Confident managing rotas, staffing requirements and last-minute changes, • An excellent verbal and written communicator, • Approachable but confident enough to be firm when required, • Comfortable having difficult conversations and resolving issues, • Naturally hospitality and customer-service focused, • Able to coordinate and support a Front of House team, • Comfortable carrying out stock checks and maintaining accurate records, • Calm and solutions-focused when problems arise, • Happy to be hands-on and help wherever required, • Someone who takes genuine pride in maintaining exceptionally high standards, • Able and willing to work evenings and Saturdays – this is non-negotiable and an essential requirement of the role Previous salon experience is preferred, particularly experience within a busy or premium salon environment. Experience within high-end hospitality, hotels, members' clubs or other fast-paced customer-facing businesses will also be considered.
