We are a very small family run Italian restaurant based near to Liverpool Street Station. We are looking for a full time chef, working in a very small team of just two chefs. Together you will be responsible for everything in the kitchen from food preparation, deliveries, orders, hygiene, cooking all dishes in service, cleaning of kitchen including pots and pans and deep cleaning of the kitchen once a week. We are open for lunch and dinner service Monday to Fridays. You will be required to work Monday to Fridays from 10.30am to about 3/3.30pm and then again from 6pm until about 10/10.30pm. You will have weekends off and Bank Holidays as well as 2 weeks holiday over Christmas and New Year as well as 2 weeks in August when the restaurant is closed. We are looking for someone who is experienced and can work in an open kitchen with customers sitting around the counter watching you work. You need to therefore be clean, hygienic and work in a professional manner. You need to also be able to work calmly under pressure as well as work with quick based energy and enthusiasm. You will need to be a quick learner and we will teach you all our menu dishes (which change frequently) and how we work. As such we are looking for someone who is looking to stay in the same job for a minimum of 1 year. Because we are such a small restaurant, we operate a small kitchen of just 2 chefs who together are responsible for everything in the kitchen: Food preparation, food service, kitchen hygiene and cleaning, delivery of food - putting it away and stock rotation, fridge temperatures and cleaning. Our working hours are incredibly work-life balance friendly, having two days off per week, Monday being fixed as we are closed and all other days, you'll never work later than 11pm. We are looking for a Sous Chef to work alongside the Head Chef as his number 2. Laxeiro has made its reputation making home cooked Spanish food. Knowledge in Spanish food is important but not essential. The job consists of general chef duties. 5 days per week split into 2 shifts per day with a break between lunch and dinner.
