The primary responsibility of a barista job is to ensure the customers receive high quality beverages, food, and service. The full duty and responsibility list of a barista:

  • Welcome visitors, give them drink menus, inform them about specials and new menu items, and answer questions.
  • Accept orders and payments (cash and credit cards).
  • Pay attention to clients’’ preferences (coffee blend, milk preferences, etc.).
  • Prepare beverages according to recipes.
  • Grind and blend coffee beans, brew coffee and tea, etc.
  • Package and serve beverages and food (pastry, sandwiches, etc.).
  • Keep the bartender area clean.
  • Restock work and dining areas.
  • Empty trash and sanitise professional equipment and utensils.
  • Maintain the bartender tools/equipment and report any repairs.
  • Comply with health and safety regulations.
  • Receive customer feedback and report it to managers.
