The Apprentice Estimator supports the commercial and estimating team by helping to prepare accurate, competitive quotations for structural steel projects. Working under the guidance of experienced estimators, the apprentice learns how to interpret technical drawings, assess material and labour requirements, and contribute to the development of tender submissions. The role involves gathering information, assisting with take‑offs, maintaining pricing data, and supporting the preparation of bid documents.
This position provides hands‑on experience across the full estimating process, from initial enquiry through to final submission, while developing a strong understanding of steel fabrication, connection details, industry standards, and commercial decision‑making. The Apprentice Estimator plays an important part in ensuring bids are well‑structured, compliant, and aligned with client specifications and Elland Steel’s operational capabilities.
