Little Goslings is a home based early years setting in Beckenham. We have achieved 4 consecutive ‘Outstanding’ gradings from Ofsted. We are looking for a kind, enthusiastic, energetic but quiet, reliable and trustworthy individual to assist the everyday running of the setting, safeguard and support the children in our care and enable them to thrive and blossom. Duties will include - 🐥supporting children’s care and wellbeing 🐥undertaking safeguarding and other training specific to your job role 🐥assisting with the daily running of the setting, ensuring a clean and safe environment is maintained at all times 🐥building respectful and nurturing relationships with the small people in your care, the other staff members and parents too 🐥planning and organising fun and interesting activities 🐥assisting with admin duties and liaising with parents 🐥Having a sense of humour & a happy disposition is essential No formal qualifications are required, however a warm, caring and nurturing persona is essential. Knowledge of the EYFS and early years curriculum and/or experience with children under 5 is desirable, however, if you are passionate about working with little ones, we can teach you along the way! You must be prepared to feel loved and special to many young children and their families… there is simply no other job like this one. The position is subject to a successful interview, enhanced DBS check and references. The position is for a week at the start of January. Key Areas · Activity planning · Liaison · Supervision and care of children · Direct playwork · Health and safety · Miscellaneous Duties and Responsibilities Activity Planning · To provide safe, creative and appropriate play opportunities including preparing activities, organisation programmes and arranging equipment · To ensure that all activities are carried out within an equal opportunity framework. · To undertake any necessary training including a nationally recognised playwork course. · To encourage community wide participation and activity planning and delivery. Liaison · To develop and maintain good relationships and communications with parents to facilitate day to day caring needs. · To encourage parental involvement and support through the development of effective working relationships. · To consult with the children and involve them in the planning of activities. Supervision and care of children · Ensure that activities are carried out in a safe and responsible manner in accordance with Statutory responsibilities. · Ensure that food provision is carried out within the guidelines of the Food and Safety Act 1990, it is balanced and healthy in accordance with dietary requirements. Direct Playwork · Help the coordinator to ensure that a wide range of creative and enjoyable activities are offered. · Ensure that play meets full range of children’s individual and group needs. Health and safety · To ensure the good standards of hygiene and cleanliness are maintained at all times. · To be responsible for the Health and Safety standards, appropriate for the needs of the children. · Recording of any accidents in the accident book. · Ensure child is collected by someone known to Beams of Light staff · Recording of any accidents in the accident book · To ensure confidentiality of information at work is adhered. · Ensure to provide a good quality check on the equipment and the children’s play environment before the after school care session. We are seeking a dedicated Special Needs Support Worker to support our non verbal 16 year old son who has Autism with profound learning difficulties. We are looking for someone who is fit and active to help support our son engage in various activities over the summer holiday period and beyond. He loves the outdoors and particularly enjoys swimming, trampolining and going to parks and other recreational places. Our son is a very happy, loving and compliant young man so his support workers do have a lot of fun supporting him. Our support workers usually have a minimum of two weekend sessions per month and more during the school holidays based around their availability on a rota system. Requirements: - Prior experience working with children, especially those with special education needs - Knowledge or background in special education practices - Ability to work compassionately and patiently with individuals requiring extra support - Strong communication skills to interact effectively with children and their families - Experience working with individuals on the autism spectrum.
