Overview:
We are seeking a professional and reliable Truck Driver to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods across various routes, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism. Responsibilities:
- Operate flatbed lorries and other commercial vehicles in compliance with all road safety regulations and company policies.
- Safely load, secure, and unload cargo to prevent damage during transit.
- Plan routes efficiently to ensure timely delivery of goods across designated locations.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after journeys, reporting any maintenance issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption.
- Adhere to all legal requirements related to driving hours, load limits, and safety protocols.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules and any unforeseen delays.
- Uphold a professional appearance and behaviour when representing the company on the road.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed vehicles.
- Strong knowledge of driving regulations and safety standards within the UK.
- Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record.
- Ability to operate large vehicles confidently and manoeuvre in tight spaces when necessary.
- Good organisational skills for route planning and documentation management.
- Physical fitness to handle loading/unloading tasks when required.
- Previous experience as a delivery driver is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided for specific vehicle types if necessary. This position is ideal for motivated individuals committed to safe driving practices and excellent customer service standards within the logistics industry.
