Participate in the development of strategic objectives and the production of departmental, service and team plans, policies and procedures and under the guidance of the Integrated Service Manager., • Contribute to and on occasions lead projects in specialist and complex areas in line with departmental objectives and service development needs., • Recruit, motivate, train and develop staff within Council procedures and implement employment legislation. Undertake development activities required for own and team’s development including supervision and appraisal and keep up to date with legislation, government initiatives, best practice in Children’s services to ensure an effective workforce that can meet service objectives and the Every Child Matters agenda., • Maintain effective links and working relationships within the Department and with relevant statutory, voluntary and private agencies. Work in partnership with these agencies in order or provide a well co-ordinate quality service to individual service users making the most effective use of local resources. Represent the Department and the Council on multi-agency partnerships e.g. Luton Safeguarding Children Board., • Identify and arrange for services provided to service users by internal and external providers to be commissioned effectively and monitored in order to ensure that quality standards and service user needs are met., • Degree or equivalent in Social Work., • Current Social Work England Registration., • Experience within Children’s Services., • Full Drivers Licence and have use of a vehicle.
