Job Summary We are seeking a reliable, high-energy Chef to lead our kitchen operations and deliver excellent casual dining experiences. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing a varied menu of high-volume pub favourites, sharing platters, burgers, and wings. The ideal candidate thrives in a lively, fast-paced environment and excels at maintaining food quality, speed, and safety standards—especially during major televised sporting events and peak weekend rushes. Key Responsibilities • High-Volume Cooking: Prepare, cook, and present menu items quickly and consistently according to company recipes and portion controls., • Match-Day Execution: Efficiently manage the kitchen line and expedite orders during high-pressure rushes, ensuring short ticket times when the venue is at maximum capacity., • Food Safety & Hygiene: Adhere strictly to local health and safety regulations, food hygiene laws, and cross-contamination guidelines (including allergen management)., • Inventory Control: Monitor stock levels, rotate ingredients using FIFO (First In, First Out), minimise food waste, and assist with ordering supplies., • Kitchen Maintenance: Maintain a pristine, sanitized workspace, ensuring all grilling, frying, and refrigeration equipment is cleaned and monitored daily., • Team Collaboration: Communicate clearly with front-of-house staff and coordinate with junior kitchen team members to ensure smooth service. Qualifications & Requirements • Experience: 1–3 years of experience as a Line Cook, Commis Chef, or Chef de Partie in a high-volume pub, sports bar, or casual dining restaurant., • Speed & Stamina: Proven ability to work at a rapid pace while standing for extended periods in a hot kitchen environment., • Technical Skills: Competency operating standard commercial kitchen equipment, including deep fryers, flat-top grills, and commercial ovens., • Certifications: Valid Food Handler Certificate (e.g., Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering)., • Availability: Highly flexible schedule with mandatory availability for evenings, weekends, and major sporting tournament schedules., • Attributes: Strong teamwork skills, an organized mind, and a calm, positive attitude during chaotic rushes.
