About the Role:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to provide one-to-one support for a 29-year-old male adult with autism, learning disabilities, and behavioural challenges. The individual has a developmental capacity similar to that of a child, and requires consistent, structured support in his daily life.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide personal care, emotional support, and practical assistance
Promote independence while ensuring safety and well-being
Support with daily routines and community activities
Manage and de-escalate behavioural challenges in a calm and positive manner
Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with the wider care team and family
Essential Requirements:
Previous experience working with individuals on the autism spectrum and/or with learning disabilities
Patience, empathy, and strong interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and remain calm under pressure
Male applicants only (due to genuine occupational requirements under the Equality Act 2010)
Desirable:
A valid UK driving licence (not essential but preferred)
