Experienced carers only - Evening SITTING position- £600pm (9pm-7am). We are looking for someone with experience of caring for a relative or from a care agency. My father has dementia but he is mobile and already has carers in the daytime. We are looking for someone who can “sit” with him during bedtime hours to keep an eye on our father during the night, if he gets up to use the toilet. This varies day to day. Sometimes he doesn’t get up at all. Other times it’s 2-3 times. The person will need to escort him into the bathroom and stand by the door to ensure he does not get dizzy. You will then need to escort him back to bed. My father is able to clean himself and wash his hands. If he’s hungry or thirsty he may ask for Tea and a snack. You can help him make this and then settle him back to bed. There will be an alarm set up in his bedroom which will wake you up if he gets up from the bed. This position is suitable for a mature carer or mature student who needs extra pocket money and is perhaps busy in the daytime at a care agency or at university.
