We are currently seeking to recruit a full-time Immigration Solicitor to join our existing immigration team. We are currently looking for a passionate immigration paralegal/solicitor to join a fantastic legal firm based in the regional office in Blackburn. You will be handling your own caseload of legal aid and private clients. This will be an interesting and diverse workload and the immigration paralegal/solicitor should be self-motivated with good drafting skills to prepare representations. The post-holder will need to have at least three years’ experience of providing advice, casework and representation in and immigration law. Current Experience should include: Spouse/Fiancé/unmarried partner in country/out country applications Indefinite Leave applications - all categories EEA applications All points based applications Further Leave to Remain applications Visitor Visas Appeals Detention/Bail applications British Nationality applications Asylum Claims Further Submissions Duties and Responsibilities To provide advice, casework, and representation to clients on all aspects of immigration and nationality law. This is largely individual casework based. Keep accurate and detailed case records and files for the continuity of casework, information retrieval, statistical monitoring, and report preparation. To ensure that all advice and casework comply with all regulatory requirements. Work flexibly with other staff to ensure effective work. Contribute to the administration of the office to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the company. To keep up to date with the changes in relevant legislation. To read the relevant asylum and immigration law reports and other relevant materials. Ability to supervise other caseworkers and provide them with legal assistance as and when necessary. The applicant will be expected to demonstrate advanced knowledge and experience of handling complicated non-asylum immigration cases in particular Points Based applications. The applicant must be willing to travel to the regional offices at as and when required, this could be at short notice in order to meet client expectations. Role and Responsibilities We are an ever-growing law firm with our head office in Blackburn. We have a great opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced individual to join our Private Client (Wills and Probate) department. The role covers all areas of Private Client, to include Will drafting and advice, Lasting Powers of Attorney and Estate Administration, both Probate and Intestacy to include Inheritance taxable estates. Essential: 2-4 years established experience in Private Client Ability to manage own case load with minimal supervision in accordance with firm procedures and processes Ability to conduct meetings with clients in a professional manner Ability to assess legal issues, advise and draft documents accordingly Ability to work independently and undertake file admin independently Ability to conduct legal research Ability to assist Head of Department with department growth to include development of long term client relationships and assisting and attending business development activities Desirable: Experience in Trust Administration to include the set up of trust, taxation on trusts and HMRC’s Trust Registration scheme Experience in advising on high net worth matters to include tax mitigation Home visits to see clients may be required so ideally someone who drives and has access to their own vehicle Day to day duties: Attending upon clients to take instructions relating to Private Client matters and advising according to the circumstances Setting up case files Running case files from start to completion Drafting documents to include detailed attendance notes, letters to clients, Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorneys, Inheritance Tax paperwork, etc, and ensuring the files comply with the law in this area and the firm procedures. Executing documents with clients Billing files Some networking will be included in the role, as and when required. We are in Urgent need Fee earner for our Civil/Commercial Litigation Department. This department, a testament to the firm's continual growth and adaptation to the dynamic legal landscape, is experiencing a remarkable upsurge in client engagements. Consequently, we are seeking to expand our team with the addition of a new Solicitor or Litigation Executive. This individual should possess a robust understanding and practical experience in civil/commercial litigation and debt-related matters, adhering to the legal frameworks of England and Wales. Our department's focus encompasses a diverse range of legal issues, including but not limited to: Residential Landlord-Tenant Disputes, primarily focusing on possession proceedings as per the Housing Act 1988 and subsequent amendments. Commercial Landlord-Tenant Disputes, involving the execution of forfeiture notices under the Law of Property Act 1925. Debt Recovery Actions and Proceedings, adhering to the Civil Procedure Rules and relevant case law. Breach of Contract matters, guided by established principles under English Contract Law. General Civil and Litigation Disputes, encompassing a wide range of civil law issues. Property Litigation and Contentious Probate Matters, requiring an intricate understanding of the Property Law and Probate Law respectively. The role we seek to fill entails a variety of responsibilities, including but not limited to: Initial consultations with prospective clients and the gathering of preliminary instructions. Collaboration with the supervising team to determine fee structures, followed by communicating fee estimates to clients. Conducting legal research and formulating a case strategy post-instruction. Drafting initial correspondences and formal letters to involved parties, articulating our clients' claims and positions. Preparation of witness statements to substantiate our clients’ claims. Drafting and filing court proceedings, ensuring compliance with the relevant procedural requirements. Management of evidence and disclosure processes, in line with the Civil Procedure Rules. Navigation of court directions and ensuring adherence to judicial guidelines. Participation in marketing and business development initiatives to further the department's reach and reputation. The successful candidate will benefit from supervision by the Head of the Department and administrative support from an Administrative Assistant.
