** ASAP Start** A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Pastry chef has opened up in a well known restaurant in Billericay Essex.
Our client has the best reputation in the area for fresh seasonal fine dining food.
The restaurant is open from Wednesday to Sunday for Lunch and Dinner as well as special events. Due to growth, they are keen to hire an experienced Pastry chef to run their pastry section full time.
Our client is offering a fantastic package of £40kpa as well as room to grow within the business to Head Pastry chef in the future. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record as a Pastry chef for at least 1 year in a restaurant environment. Right to work in the UK is a must and being able to commute to this location without the need of public transport. ** Responsibilities** - Prepare a wide variety of goods such as cakes, cookies, pies, bread etc. following traditional and modern recipes - Create new and exciting desserts to renew our menus and engage the interest of customers - Decorate pastries using different icings, toppings etc. to ensure the presentation will be beautiful and exciting - Monitor stocks for baking ingredients such as flour, sugar etc. and make appropriate orders within budget - Check quality of material and condition of equipment and devices used for cooking - Guide and motivate pastry assistants and bakers to work more efficiently - Identify staffing needs and help recruit and train personnel - Maintain a lean and orderly cooking station and adhere to health and safety standards ** Requirements and skills** - Proven experience as Pastry Chef, baker or relevant role - Great attention to detail and creativity - Organizing and leadership skills - Willingness to replenish professional knowledge - In depth knowledge of sanitation principles, food preparation and baking techniques and nutrition - Working knowledge of baking with ingredient limitations (pastries that are gluten free, sugarless etc.) - Certificate in culinary arts, pastry-making, baking or relevant field If you are interested in knowing more about this role then please apply today and one of our team will follow up with more details about the job.
