Housing Disrepair Fee Earner We are delighted to be working with a well-established law firm that have a leading reputation in the field of Housing Disrepair and Personal Injury work. Our client is looking to expand their sizeable Housing Disrepair department at their Pontefract office and is keen to hear from Paralegals, non-qualified fee earners and Chartered Legal executives with upwards of two years Housing Disrepair fee earning experience. You will be largely dealing with Disrepaired house cases on behalf of the claimant, with a mix of pre- litigated and litigated cases. Responsibilities to include: File Management Under supervision manage client matters according to NPS and ensure a high level of client care. Provide legal and administrative support to fee earner(s) on their client matters. Finance Ensure financial aspects of matters including time recording, billing and debtor management are managed to enable achievement of personal fee budget and support fee earners in the achievement of theirs. About You: Knowledge and understanding of basic legal concepts learnt from legal education such as undergraduate law, LLM, LPC, GDL or ILEX study; or equivalent work experience; or successful completion of the Paralegal Apprenticeship scheme. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite and relevant practice and business IT systems, particularly Mattersphere and Aderant. Excellent typing skills (minimum wpm 35) Relevant work experience. Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to think logically and analytically. Ability to work under pressure and prioritise work from various stakeholders. Commercially aware and highly motivated. You will be largely dealing with Noise Induced Hearing Loss cases on behalf of the claimant, with a mix of pre- litigated and litigated cases. You will also be dealing with some other Industrial Disease matters from time to time. We are currently looking for a passionate immigration paralegal/solicitor to join a fantastic legal firm based in the regional office in Blackburn. This will be an interesting and diverse workload and the immigration paralegal/solicitor should be self-motivated with good drafting skills to prepare representations. The post-holder will need to have at least three years’ experience of providing advice, casework and representation in and immigration law. This is largely individual casework based. Keep accurate and detailed case records and files for the continuity of casework, information retrieval, statistical monitoring, and report preparation. To ensure that all advice and casework comply with all regulatory requirements. Work flexibly with other staff to ensure effective work. Contribute to the administration of the office to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the company. To keep up to date with the changes in relevant legislation. To read the relevant asylum and immigration law reports and other relevant materials. Ability to supervise other caseworkers and provide them with legal assistance as and when necessary. The applicant will be expected to demonstrate advanced knowledge and experience of handling complicated non-asylum immigration cases in particular Points Based applications. The applicant must be willing to travel to the regional offices at as and when required, this could be at short notice in order to meet client expectations. Job Type: Full-time Salary: £30,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
