Position Overview
The Housekeeping Manager is responsible for managing the cleanliness, presentation, and upkeep of all guest-facing and common areas of the hotel, including lobbies, corridors, restrooms, and back-of-house zones. This role ensures that all public areas always reflect the hotel’s five-star standards. The manager leads the public area team, monitors performance, and works closely with multiple departments—particularly Maintenance, Front Office, Security, and Events—to ensure smooth operations and exceptional guest satisfaction.


Key Responsibilities
Public Area Management
Supervise and manage all cleaning activities in public areas to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and presentation.
Team Supervision
Lead and support the public area housekeeping team; ensure effective scheduling, task assignment, and on-the-job training.
Quality Assurance
Conduct regular inspections and audits of public areas to ensure compliance with cleanliness, safety, and brand standards.
Interdepartmental Cooperation
Collaborate closely with the Maintenance department to report and follow up on any repair needs (e.g., lighting, plumbing, furniture, flooring).
Coordinate with the Front Office to ensure that high-traffic areas are clean and presentable during peak guest flow times.
Support Food & Beverage outlets by ensuring adjacent public areas (e.g., lounges, restrooms) are maintained to standard.
Guest Interaction
Respond professionally and promptly to guest inquiries or complaints related to public area cleanliness.
Inventory & Supply Management
Monitor and manage cleaning supplies and equipment for public area operations; ensure proper stock levels and usage.
Safety & Hygiene Compliance
Ensure all employees follow safety procedures and proper use of chemicals and equipment; maintain compliance with health and sanitation regulations.
Administrative Tasks
Assist the Executive Housekeeping Manager with record-keeping, performance reporting, and planning.


Qualifications & Experience
Minimum 3 years’ supervisory experience in housekeeping within a luxury or 5-star hotel setting.
Experience overseeing high-traffic public areas with attention to detail and service excellence.
Strong leadership and communication skills with a collaborative mindset.
Familiarity with maintenance reporting and facilities management practices.
Excellent time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
