Green Top Farms was founded by a farmer-turned-public-school-teacher who was troubled by the lack of fresh, nutritious foods for many New York families. For the last ten years we have built a high volume food service, catering and delivery business. Throughout that time we have remained deeply involved in working to provide better food resources and education for school children, food pantries, and the broader community. We have also pursued our vision for a more sustainable and equitable food system. We spent the majority of our energies during the COVID Pandemic serving NYC City Agencies in the provision of food for the underserved, as well as non-profit agencies throughout NYC. Our mission is to build a more sustainable and equitable food system, starting by reconnecting consumers and local farmers. We believe the results of strengthening that connection are better nutrition, more tasty food, greater social justice, and reduced environmental impacts. Our menus reflect this attention to bringing nutritious, delicious food to those who need it most. What You’ll Do: - Reading order sheets, pick and packing daily deliveries based on the order sheet - Inspect orders to ensure accuracy and quality - Rotating between the hot and cold kitchen, prescribing heating time, temperature, and location for retherm of all deliveries by using your knowledge of food safety and temperature degradation that occurs during delivery - Work as a team with the pick & pack and dispatch team to ensure all orders are accurate and organized for delivery - Organizing cooler and dry storage areas by the “First in First Out” principle - Comply with all company policies, rules & regulations regarding safety, personal hygiene (GMP’s), operational methods and food safety guidelines - Ensuring quality is maintained during pick and pack (hot food, cold food) process - Strong communication skills with team Who You Are: - Must be fully vaccinated and boosted against COVID with proof of vaccination (Required) - Must have Food Handlers Certification (Preferred) - Ability to carry over 50 pounds and remain standing for long periods of time - A self-starter and problem-solver spirit with extreme attention to detail - Experience working on teams and enjoy being a team player - Interest in being part of a growing company trying to bring a fresh take on pre-packaged meals - Bilingual (Preferred) What We Offer: Green Top Farms provides benefits including medical insurance, sick leave, paid time off that increases with tenure, commuter benefits and potential for bonuses through our Green Shares employee bonus program. We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Food Packer to join our team at Mr. Broadway. The ideal candidate will be responsible for reading and fulfilling order tickets, dispatching drivers, ensuring food quality and timely delivery, and coordinating with various prep stations and the front desk. Key Responsibilities: - Read and understand order tickets accurately. - Pack food orders efficiently and accurately according to ticket specifications. - Ensure food quality by inspecting items before packing. - Maintain cleanliness and organization in the packing area. - Dispatch orders and drivers in a timely manner to ensure on-time deliveries. - Coordinate with kitchen prep stations to ensure timely preparation of food items. - Communicate effectively with the front desk team to manage order flow. - Stocking of all necessary food items at the station, keeping inventory levels optimal for smooth operation. Qualifications: - Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a restaurant or food service environment. - Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently under pressure. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively. - Familiarity with food safety and hygiene standards. - Flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends. - Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects
