The Driver is responsible for providing quality transportation services to program participants and the agency. This position requires the driver to comply with the NYC Department of Motor Vehicles regulations at all times. Under the general direction of the Transportation Manager, the function of the position is to ensure reliable passenger transportation with safety as highest priority. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: ❖ Follow the planned route and schedule for departure times and stops ❖ Be attentive to traffic and weather conditions to ensure passenger safety ❖ Conduct regular vehicle safety checks to include tires, brakes, turn signals, mechanical equipment, etc. ❖ Maintain valid Commercial driver’s license (CLD). ❖ Observe safe operation of agency vehicles within state and local government guidelines ❖ Maintain trip logs and other reports as may be required ❖ Perform daily safety inspection of assigned vehicle. ❖ Document and report vehicle maintenance issues to the transportation manager. ❖ Attend trainings as specified by the agency. ❖ Observe and maintain compliance with regulations relating to consumer rights and incident reporting. ❖ Maintain a safe environment for passengers. ❖ Ensure passengers are seated and all restraints and belts are in place and working. ❖ Report any observed or known incidents involving the health and safety of the people that attend IRI programs. ❖ Perform all further activities that support the mission of the agency. QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED. Minimum Experience: - Valid CDL NYS driver’s license with less than 6 points. - Understand the driving regulations set by the Department of Motor Vehicle. Preferred Education: Associate degree/Certifications in driving commercial vehicle. Preferred Experience: - One year experience in a similar setting. - Valid CDL NYS driver’s license with less than 6 points.

Duties & Responsibilities: 1. Ensure safe on-road operations while maintaining on-time pick-ups and drop-offs. 2. Familiarity with assigned service area. 3. Awareness of ADA Policies and Procedures and understanding ADA compliance. 4. Proper operation of all wheelchair lifts. 5. Collect the prescribed fares and notify paratransit dispatch of any refusal to pay or any other type of issues, fare evasion, or fraud. 6. Providing information to passengers. 7. Welcome and help passengers. 8. Effectively communicate with passengers especially in case of service disruptions. 9. Perform pre and post trip inspections 10. Report to the paratransit any problems that may disrupt scheduled service or cause you to fall behind schedule. 11. Report immediately to dispatch any vehicular accident or passenger incident and follow the incident and accident reporting procedures. 12. Performs all other duties as assigned. You Must Have: License: CDL A, B, or C Endorsement: Passenger Clean Driving Record: Three (3) Years Age Minimum: 21 Must pass a pre employment drug test Knowledge of Five (5) Boroughs, Bridges, Expressways, Highways, Preferred.

Qualifications: - Proven experience as a mechanic, preferably with mobile repair or roadside assistance experience. - Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills across various vehicle makes and models. - Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, scan tools, and other automotive repair equipment. - Comprehensive knowledge of automotive systems (engine, transmission, electrical, brakes, etc.). - Ability to perform a wide range of repairs and maintenance tasks independently. - Excellent customer service and communication skills. - Strong organizational and time management skills. - Ability to work independently and manage your own schedule effectively. - Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. - Ability to lift heavy objects and work in various weather conditions. - Experience with specific vehicle types or technologies is a Plus
