About the Role We are seeking a hands-on Marketing Director to lead and grow a lean B2B marketing function for a payment technology business. This role is ideal for a strategic, execution-oriented marketing leader who can drive demand generation, strengthen brand positioning, support sales growth, and lead a small team. This is a player-coach role with two direct reports. The Director, Marketing will own integrated marketing programs across demand generation, product marketing, brand, events, content, digital campaigns, marketing operations, and sales enablement. The U.S. office manages both domestic and international marketing initiatives, including trade shows and campaigns. This role will support global marketing activities in markets such as Japan, Korea, Thailand, and Vietnam. Frequent international travel is not expected, but involvement in planning and supporting global marketing efforts is required. Key Responsibilities • Develop and execute marketing strategies aligned with company growth goals, revenue targets, and market opportunities., • Lead integrated B2B campaigns across digital, content, email, events, partner marketing, ABM, and sales enablement channels., • Own demand generation programs that improve lead quality, pipeline contribution, conversion rates, and campaign ROI., • Partner closely with Sales, Product, Operations, and Executive Leadership to align marketing with business priorities., • Lead brand positioning, messaging, storytelling, and product marketing for payment technology solutions., • Support go-to-market planning for new products, solutions, partnerships, and customer segments., • Manage trade show and event marketing, including planning, messaging, collateral, lead capture, follow-up, and reporting., • Support international marketing initiatives, including trade shows and regional campaigns in Japan, Korea, Thailand, and Vietnam., • Lead, mentor, and develop a small marketing team while staying hands-on with execution., • Own marketing performance reporting, attribution, dashboards, campaign analytics, and marketing operations., • Use CRM and marketing automation tools to improve lead management, campaign performance, and customer journeys. Required Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field., • 8+ years of progressive B2B marketing experience., • 5+ years of experience in a marketing leadership role, such as Senior Marketing Manager, Marketing Lead, Director of Marketing, or similar., • Proven success developing marketing strategies that drive measurable pipeline, revenue growth, and business impact., • Strong experience across demand generation, product marketing, digital marketing, content, events, brand, and marketing operations., • Experience working closely with Sales to improve lead quality, conversion rates, pipeline velocity, and revenue attribution., • Ability to operate as both a strategic leader and hands-on contributor in a lean, fast-paced environment., • Experience leading, mentoring, or developing marketing team members., • Strong analytical skills with experience in marketing metrics, funnel reporting, attribution, and campaign ROI., • Excellent communication, presentation, project management, and stakeholder management skills., • Experience with CRM and marketing automation platforms; Salesforce and Pardot preferred. Preferred Qualifications • Experience in B2B technology, fintech, payments, hardware, SaaS, embedded technology, or related industries., • Experience marketing technical products, hardware solutions, payment solutions, or complex B2B technology offerings., • Experience supporting channel, partner, reseller, OEM, ISV, or ecosystem marketing programs., • Experience in a high-growth, startup, or entrepreneurial business environment., • Experience supporting global or regional marketing initiatives with international sales teams or partners., • Knowledge of payment technologies such as EMV, NFC/contactless, mobile payments, or unattended payment solutions. Success Measures Within the first 3–6 months, this leader will be expected to: • Increase marketing-sourced and marketing-influenced pipeline., • Improve lead quality, conversion rates, and campaign performance., • Strengthen brand awareness and market presence., • Build scalable marketing programs, processes, and reporting dashboards., • Support and develop a high-performing marketing team while remaining hands-on., • Establish marketing as a measurable revenue-driving function. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is a practical, hands-on B2B marketing leader who enjoys both strategy and execution. This person should be comfortable leading a small team, partnering closely with sales, building programs from the ground up, and using data to improve marketing performance. Travel Limited travel may be required.
