Osakana is a specialty Japanese fish market and to-go sushi shop located in the heart of the East Village. We are dedicated to offering high-quality seafood and thoughtfully prepared sushi, while delivering warm, reliable service to our community. We are seeking motivated, detail-oriented team members who take pride in their work and enjoy a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Responsibilities • Assist with basic fish handling, including trimming, portioning, and packaging, • Support the preparation and assembly of to-go sushi items (rolls, donburi, sashimi packs, etc.), • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation in all work areas, • Provide friendly and professional customer service at the counter, • Operate the register accurately and efficiently, • Restock display cases and assist with inventory and product rotation, • Receive and inspect deliveries to ensure quality and accuracy, • Follow store procedures, food safety protocols, and daily operational checklists, • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth and efficient workflow Qualifications Required • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions, • Reliability, punctuality, and professionalism, • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy, • High standard of hygiene and food safety awareness, • Positive attitude and willingness to learn Preferred • Experience in seafood handling, fish markets, or food service, • Basic knife skills or kitchen prep experience Customer service or retail experience • English and/or Japanese communication ability, • Interest in Japanese cuisine or seafood
