Case Manager - George Daly House - New York

Minimum Qualifications Two years experience as a housekeeper in a commercial or institutional setting. Able to manage general household maintenance. Able to lift at least 40 lbs. Additional Desired Qualifications Bilingual (Spanish/English). Experience working with older adults, formerly homeless, mental health or substance abuse. Certified in basic First Aid. Responsibilities This position reports to the Superintendent. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: ● Clean George Daly grounds (indoors and outdoors) so that they are litter, rodent, and pest-free. ● Clean bathrooms and designated client rooms as specified by the Program Director. ● Maintain public areas, including cleaning/disinfecting couches, surfaces, etc. ● Vacuum rugs in public areas and elevator. ● Assist superintendent and porter in deep cleaning for inspections. ● Other duties as needed

Minimum Qualifications • One year experience as a cook working in an institutional kitchen., • Experience in preparing food and cooking meals for large groups (88+ persons), kitchen operations, and handling of kitchen equipment., • Applicant must have successfully completed the Health Academy Food Sanitation Course., • Applicant must be willing to work a schedule that includes one weekend day weekly. - Applicant must also be free of any contagious or communicable diseases (e.g., tuberculosis). Additional Desired Qualifications • Background in nutrition, catering or meal planning., • Bilingual (Spanish/English), • Experience working with older adults, formerly homeless, mental health or substance abusers, • Valid New York City driver's license, • Certified in basic First Aid and CPR. Job Description This position reports to the Head Chef. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: Serve daily lunch to approximately 88 to 100 clients Prepare, cook and serve daily dinner Provide input into the planning of monthly menus Serve lunch during the weekdays Maintain all kitchen equipment in good working order Clean pots, pans and other kitchen equipment Assist cook in maintaining clean kitchen that complies with all regulations (e.g., NYC Department of Health) Cover for the Head Chef in his/her absence Assist in kitchen inventory keeping and storing food deliveries Back-up to dishwasher person in emergency situations Other general kitchen duties as needed Kitchen Equipment Cleaning Day (Wednesdays) The New York Foundation for Senior Citizens, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of gender, race, color, age, religion, national origin, disability, veteran status.
