The Chef prepares quality dinners for the a household of 5 . The Chef is scheduled to work for 4 hours per evening from Monday to Friday, and typically prepares from 1 to 4 dinners per evening. The Chef is responsible for developing menus, shopping from local and on-line providers, preparing and serving the meals and for routine kitchen cleaning and maintenance.

What you’ll do: • Consistently support a culture of Enlightened Hospitality, • Responsible for all aspects of kitchen operations, including preparation, cooking, and portioning of food, • Maintains and properly uses all kitchen equipment including fryers, blenders, food processors, mixers and rotisserie, • Consistently ensures that prep duties are excellently prepped, seasoned and cooked to the standards taught by Daily Provisions culinary leaders by the designated time of completion, • Follows standard operating procedures of all recipes, techniques, and builds sheets of assigned dishes as taught by culinary leaders, • Responsible for correct product storage of all mise en place, including labeling and dating procedures, • Responsible for maintaining properly sharpened knives and tools and exhibits at least average knife skills in speed and accuracy to maintain a professional line cook's workload, • Maintains a clear dish station including but not limited to chemicals, janitorial supplies, and health department standards and assists with deep cleaning schedule., • Supports the team (Hospitality and Kitchen) whenever needed (e.g, call-outs, catering, etc.), • Has intimate knowledge of Department of Health standards and uses them as a guide to keep kitchen spaces tidy, and to holds the team accountable, • Perform additional responsibilities as needed and other duties as assigned to support team objectives and operational success What we need from you: • 2+ years in a Line Cook position in a similar environment, • Ability to walk or stand for long periods of time, • English fluency and additional languages preferred, but not required What you’ll get from us: At Union Square Hospitality Group, *extending Enlightened Hospitality is at the heart of everything we do.* We believe our people are our greatest ingredient. We are a meal preparation company providing food for preschools, senior centers, adult centers, homeless shelters, and other community-serving organizations. The chef will prepare meals in bulk during production shifts, including basic rice and pasta dishes and light baked goods such as muffins and cornbread. The schedule is flexible, with availability needed five days per week.

The Sushi Chef is a self-starter and team player with leadership qualities who thrives in a fast-paced, growing environment and can handle a high volume of orders. Requirements: • Ability to follow exact recipe ingredients and procedures for all items from Sushi production, including but not limited to Maki, Temaki, Nigiri, Sashimi, Poke, and Crudo., • Ability to perform a variety of fish fabrication techniques, • Ability to maintain the highest standards of Food Safety and Sanitation practices with attention to detail, • Cutting, chopping, slicing, and fileting different types of produce/proteins (especially different types of fish), • Skills, Abilities, and Experience:, • 3+ years of work in a Sushi restaurant, • Ability to prepare fish (fishmonger, fish butchery)., • Previous New York restaurant experience is a plus, but not mandatory.
