The Sous Chef at The Union Bar & Provisions will be responsible for managing all the daily operations of the foodservice operations for the bar, restaurant, and special events. Which include, but are not limited to menu development, food quality and cost controls, standard operating procedures in the kitchen, staffing responsibilities, and general administrative responsibilities. The Sous Chef will be responsible for overseeing all employees who report directly to him/her when the chef is off site. The Sous Chef will report directly to the Executive Chef.

Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations while ensuring quality standards are met. Collaborate with kitchen staff to create menu offerings that align with customer preferences and seasonal trends. Manage inventory control, ordering supplies, and minimizing waste. Address customer inquiries and complaints promptly to maintain satisfaction levels. Monitor industry trends to identify opportunities for growth and improvement. Skills Proven experience in restaurant management or hospitality management within the food service industry. Strong knowledge of fine dining practices as well as casual dining operations. Excellent supervisory skills with the ability to lead a diverse team effectively. Experience in training development to enhance staff performance and service quality. Proficient in budgeting, financial analysis, and cost control measures. Exceptional communication skills for effective interaction with guests and team members. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
