Graphic Designer
Burwoodland | Full-time | Williamsburg, Brooklyn, hybrid
Burwoodland produces internationally touring themed dance parties, including Emo Night Brooklyn, Gimme Gimme Disco, Broadway Rave, Next Level KPop Rave, and more. We bring fans together around the music, artists, and communities they love—and great creative helps make that happen.
We’re looking for a Graphic Designer with strong static design and motion graphics skills, fresh ideas, and curiosity about what makes people stop scrolling and show up.
The Opportunity
You’ll design creative across our portfolio of live event brands, from paid social campaigns to broader marketing and brand projects. The role is approximately 60% static design and 40% motion graphics and video, so you should be confident developing polished creative in both formats. You’ll create promotional videos that build excitement for our events and stage visuals that bring our brands to life during shows.
You’ll work closely with our design and marketing teams to turn campaign goals into compelling creative, explore new directions, and use performance insights to improve what we make. Marketing partners will lead campaign reporting and media strategy; you’ll bring the design thinking that helps turn those insights into new concepts and variations.
This role is a good fit for someone who enjoys building a strong visual concept and translating it across static campaigns, print, motion graphics, video, and live event screens.
What You’ll Do
- Create standout design. Develop static assets for paid advertising, social media, marketing campaigns, and brand initiatives.
- Bring creative to life. Develop motion graphics and edit promotional videos, combining animation, typography, footage, and sound into compelling creative.
- Design for the live experience. Create stage visuals and animated content that reflect each show’s identity and enhance the audience experience.
- Develop ideas with the team. Partner with design and marketing to connect brand identity, audience interests, and campaign goals.
- Experiment and improve. Create variations that test different visuals, messages, and formats, and use findings from marketing partners to inform your next round of work.
- Help keep campaigns fresh. Recommend creative updates and contribute to a shared production schedule around campaign needs, seasonal moments, and brand priorities.
- Carry projects through delivery. Organize your work, incorporate feedback, and prepare finished assets that meet platform and show production requirements.
What You’ll Bring
- Around 3–6 years of relevant experience in graphic design, motion design, marketing design, or a related creative role.
- A portfolio demonstrating strong typography, layout, composition, and visual storytelling across both static design and motion graphics.
- Experience creating assets for paid advertising, marketing campaigns, or consumer brands.
- Strong motion graphics and video editing skills are required. You should be able to independently take motion projects from concept through animation, editing, and final delivery.
- A strong understanding of animation principles, pacing, timing, and how to combine typography, graphics, footage, and sound.
- The ability to explain your creative decisions and respond thoughtfully to feedback.
- Curiosity about campaign performance and a willingness to use results to explore new ideas.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including After Effects and Premiere Pro, or equivalent motion graphics and video editing tools. Our workflows also include Canva and CapCut.
- Strong organization and communication, with the ability to flag tradeoffs and manage competing deadlines.
- A collaborative, resourceful approach and enthusiasm for music, live events, or fan communities.
Nice to Haves
- Experience developing creative variations for paid media testing.
- Experience creating stage visuals or screen content for concerts, live events, or touring shows.
- Familiarity with metrics such as click-through rate, conversion rate, and cost per acquisition.
- Experience using AI tools thoughtfully in design, video, or marketing workflows.
- Ideas for improving how a creative team plans, produces, and delivers work.
