Job Description Fiks Consultants is a high-end audio-video, IT, and home automation integration firm based in New York City. We design and install premium residential and commercial systems including lighting control, shading, networking, audio, video, and security. Our work is detail-driven, design-forward, and built to last. We are not a volume shop. We are intentional, precise, and obsessive about quality. The Role We are looking for a skilled Audio-Video / Home Automation Installation Technician who takes pride in clean work, thinks ahead, and understands that details matter. This role is hands-on and client-facing. You will be installing, terminating, programming, and troubleshooting high-end systems in luxury homes and commercial spaces. This is not a “pull wire and disappear” position. We’re looking for someone who wants to grow, learn, and be part of a top-tier team. Responsibilities • Install and service audio, video, lighting, shading, and networking systems, • Rack building, equipment mounting, and clean cable management, • Low-voltage wiring (CAT6, speaker wire, control wire, fiber a plus), • Termination and testing of cables, • Configure and troubleshoot networks (UniFi, Ruckus experience a plus), • Assist with system programming and commissioning, • Maintain a clean, professional job site, • Communicate clearly with project managers, designers, and clients, • Document work and flag issues proactively Required Experience • 3+ years of hands-on AV / low-voltage installation experience, • Strong understanding of signal flow and system architecture, • Experience with TVs, projectors, speakers, racks, and control systems, • Ability to read drawings and follow scope accurately, • Clean workmanship and attention to detail (this is critical), • Punctual, reliable, and professional Preferred (Not Required, But a Big Plus) • Experience with Lutron (HomeWorks, RadioRA), • Experience with Savant, Control4, or similar platforms, • Networking experience (VLANs, switches, WAPs), • Shading systems experience, • NYC jobsite experience (co-ops, condos, high-rise buildings) Who You Are • You care about doing things the right way, not the fastest way, • You don’t need to be micromanaged, • You think two steps ahead on a jobsite, • You respect clients’ homes and work clean, • You want to be proud of the systems you install, • You want to grow with a company that values quality over shortcuts What We Offer • Competitive pay based on experience, • Consistent, high-quality work, • Exposure to premium systems and projects, • Clear standards and expectations, • Opportunity for advancement as the company grows, • A team that takes pride in its work
