About the department
Bassett Medical Center's Medical Inpatient units are on the 2nd and 3rd floors and are sister units, with like patient populations and workflows. The 3rd floor has a 34-bed unit, and the 2nd floor has a 24-bed unit. Our diverse patient population includes many medical diagnoses from oncology to respiratory failure to cardiac issues. Patients range from observation status, to acutely ill or those on comfort care for end of life. Our Nursing Care/Magnet care delivery model is focused on empirical outcomes through transformational leadership, structural empowerment, exemplary professional practice, and new knowledge, innovations & improvements.
The Medical Inpatient units are consistently hiring for Registered Nurses with various shift and position types available. You will have the opportunity to provide us with your preferences during the application process so we can discuss specific positions in our conversations.
What you'll do
The Registered Professional Nurse (RN), Acute Care in the Medical Inpatient units is accountable for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process. The RN assesses, plans, delivers, coordinates, integrates, and evaluates nursing care related to patient’s needs. The RN contributes to the support of patients through interdisciplinary teamwork.
Education:
2 year / Associate Degree in Nursing, required or...
Vocational / Technical Diploma Professional Nursing Program, required or...
4 year / Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, preferred
All RN’s hired and do not currently hold a BSN will be expected to demonstrate enrollment in a bachelor’s prepared nursing program within 4 years of hire. BSN must be completed within 10 years. RN’s licensed on or before 12/19/17 are/remain exempt from this requirement.
Experience:
New graduate or less than one year of experience as a Registered Nurse, required
License/ Certification:
NYS licensure as Registered Nurse or valid interim permit, required
BLS certification will be required within 6 months
Other certifications may be needed based on department requirements
