Memory Care Assisted living • 51-250 Employees
Hiring on JOB TODAY since October, 2024
We are a small Assisted Living Community on the Upper East Side entirely dedicated to Memory Care for 70 Residents. All of us work very closely together to be sure our Residents receive the best care & socialization possible.
We are looking for engaging, compassionate individuals from the arts who are interested in supporting an older adult who lives in Manhattan. Those who have caregiving experience are encouraged to apply. A companion position can require just several hours per week, or as much as 30+ hours per week. Duet is a companion care agency serving Manhattan, Northern Brooklyn, and parts of Queens and the Bronx. Our mission is to connect our elder clients with outstanding companions who can improve their quality of life through social engagement, meaningful activities, and help with daily tasks that get more difficult with age. This job does not require "hands-on" care such as dressing or bathing assistance. Many of our clients are artists themselves, or lifelong patrons of the arts. They would benefit greatly from a strong connection to a working artist with whom they can share their life. This is not a position where you will be "left to your own devices" to support someone. You will receive ongoing support from our staff and social work team, as well as a detailed briefing on any client you meet. PLEASE NOTE that you must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 to work with us at this time. As we support a vulnerable population, we take great care in keeping them (and you) safe. Helpful links: To learn about many of the people who work for Duet see Our Caregivers If you are interested in a “day in life” of our caregivers and clients, see Our Care Stories Please contact us if you have a passion for supporting others, and an appreciation for the older generation. We look forward to hearing from you!
