We are seeking an experienced Roll-Off Truck Driver to join our team serving New York City, the outer boroughs, and parts of Nassau County. Responsibilities
- Safely operate manual-transmission roll-off trucks to deliver and remove waste containers.
- Load and unload containers using the truck's hydraulic systems and equipment.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections in accordance with DOT regulations.
- Maintain accurate driver logs, inspection reports, and service records.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and job site personnel to ensure timely service.
- Follow all DOT regulations, company policies, traffic laws, and safety procedures.
- Keep the vehicle clean and report any mechanical issues promptly.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of verifiable roll-off truck driving experience.
- Valid Class A or Class B CDL held for at least 2 years.
- Demonstrated experience operating manual-transmission roll-off trucks.
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and strong safety history.
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems, heavy truck operation, and vehicle inspections.
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations and safe driving practices.
Requirements
- Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
- Ability to read, write, and speak English sufficiently to communicate with the public, understand traffic signs and signals, respond to official inquiries, and complete required reports.
- Registered with the FMCSA Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse, or willing to register before employment.
- Ability to pass all required DOT drug and alcohol screenings.
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed, in compliance with DOT Hours of Service regulations.
- Physically capable of performing the essential functions of the job, including operating roll-off equipment and climbing in and out of the truck throughout the workday.
