Job Description About Us Reflex Performance Resources Inc., a global sourcing company specializing in the manufacturing and sales of activewear, athleisure and sportswear, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Designer to join our New York City team. This is a full-time, in-office role supporting our design department in delivering innovative collections across multiple brands. Position Overview The Junior Designer plays a critical support role within the Design team, helping with line sheets, CADs, color libraries, and presentation materials. This position is ideal for an organized, fast-paced junior designer who wants to learn the ins and outs of activewear design while building technical and professional skills in a collaborative environment. Key Responsibilities * Create and update line sheets for the Design team and buyers. * Prepare CAD sketches and technical flats in Adobe Illustrator. * Maintain and update the digital color library. * Assist with Pantone chip selection and physical color card creation. * Organize seasonal samples and fabric headers. * Support designers with trend research and innovation tracking. * Print artwork for factories and assemble fabric cards. * Assist with meeting preparation and presentation materials. * Provide administrative and organizational support to ensure design calendars are met. Qualifications * Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or a related field. * Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator required; Photoshop a plus). * Strong knowledge of both Mac and PC platforms; Microsoft Office proficiency. * Demonstrated skill in creating technical flats in Illustrator. * Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask. * Strong written and verbal communication skills; fluent in English. * Familiarity with apparel production/manufacturing processes preferred. * Ability to thrive under pressure and meet tight deadlines. * Positive, team-oriented attitude with a willingness to take direction. * Must be legally eligible to work in the U.S. Join Us This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for an aspiring designer to gain hands-on experience in the fashion industry. This is a full-time, in-office position where you will collaborate directly with our Design Director to shape innovative and trend-driven men’s activewear collections across our multi-brand portfolio. Role Overview The ideal candidate is a seasoned designer with deep expertise in men’s apparel, a sharp eye for trends, and the technical knowledge to bring concepts from sketch to production. You will research, design, and develop full seasonal collections, ensuring alignment with our brand identity and merchandising strategies. Key Responsibilities * Research emerging trends in men’s activewear, including fabrics, trims, embellishments, prints, and graphics. * Develop seasonal collections through CADs, mood/trend boards, and detailed tech packs. * Design innovative, functional, and on-brand men’s activewear styles across multiple brands/accounts. * Collaborate with Product Development and Technical teams to ensure accurate fit, fabric, and construction details. * Produce effective design tools including presentation boards, line sheets, and color cards. * Accurately scale graphics and textiles for design execution. * Partner with overseas vendors to ensure design integrity through production. * Contribute to cross-functional collaboration to meet deadlines and seasonal calendars. Qualifications * 7+ years of apparel design experience, with 5+ years focused on men’s apparel (activewear or performance preferred). * Advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop on Mac. * Strong knowledge of apparel construction, trims, fabrics, and technical details. * Experience developing detailed tech packs and collaborating with overseas vendors. * Proven ability to balance creativity with commercial awareness. * Highly organized with excellent attention to detail; thrives in a fast-paced environment. * Degree in Fashion Design or related field. * Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset. * Knowledge of print/graphic design is a plus. The Opportunity: We are seeking an experienced Pattern Maker who wants to be part of the exciting and evolving legacy at Simplicity! You’ll be joining the Pattern Room Team - 7 Pattern Makers and 4 Dress Makers - in our on-site office in the NYC Garment District. As a Pattern Maker, your primary focus will be translating creative vision into precise, usable sewing patterns for our customer base. You’ll leverage your expertise in draping, sewing, and fabric behavior to create patterns that are intuitive, elegant, and technically sound. This is a hands-on role for someone who loves the craft of design, and who wants to help build solutions for the next generation of makers! The Pattern Maker will be reporting to Simplicity’s Production Manager. This is a full-time, non-exempt role with benefits. The salary range for this position is $21-$23/hour.
