We are currently seeking an experienced hostess to join our team at our top Italian restaurant located in Midtown.

Need to have a NYC Food Protection Certification

The Runner is responsible for assisting the restaurant team of servers and managers with delivering food and beverage to guests as required. They maintain the cleanliness of the expo line, organize the tickets, and communicate effectively with the culinary team. This position has an hourly rate of $17 + Tips. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Assist with clearing all tables, • Maintain a clean front and back of house area, • Complete knowledge of our menus and drop lines, • Deliver all food and beverage as requested following our standards of service, • Always maintain the highest level of cleanliness and hygiene standards, • Complete understanding of allergens and SOPs regarding the handling of guest's allergies, • Polish and stock equipment for operation (silverware, linens & glassware), • Constant checking, cleaning and maintenance of all Food & Beverage areas, • Replenish side stations throughout service, • Deliver food from kitchen to floor efficiently, • Describe food items presented to guests when necessary, • Serve as the liaison between the service staff and kitchen regarding all food information and special requests, • Work closely with servers and kitchen on the timing of food, • Setting up and closing the expedition station in the kitchen, • Assist in setting up tables properly, • Complete all side work duties per SOPs, including pre-shift, post-shift, daily, weekly and monthly duties, • Always be presentable in uniform, in compliance with outlet standards and punctual, • Ability to work a flexible schedule and late hours when necessary, • All other responsibilities assigned by Management REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS • Willing to work a flexible schedule and holidays, • Positive, engaging, and energetic personality, • Able to be organized, manage time wisely and work with little to no direct supervision, • Very high attention to detail and extensive service knowledge, • Sensitive to cultural nuances, • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal in English, • Able to handle a multitude of tasks in an intense, fast paced environment, • Ability to maintain a clean and professional appearance as per company policies, • Ability to stand for extended periods of time, • Multi-lingual is a plus, • TIPS certified preferred

This is an ideal position for someone whose excitement for wine is matched by their deep commitment to guest service & hospitality in a fine dining setting. The wine list has a strong Italian focus while also featuring wines from the world's other classic, great regions. The Sommelier is responsible for recommending wine varieties, supervising wine serving, collaborating with winemakers, taking stock while ensuring optimum service for our guests. The Sommelier also ensures that all policies & procedures and standard operating procedures are effectively maintained at an optimum level. This position has an hourly rate of $17 + Tips. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • The most essential component to be a successful Sommelier will be the earnest desire to propel the wine program forward through clear communication and organization, a curiosity to learn more, and a willingness to share our expertise with guests and staff in a helpful, thoughtful way, • Create and update the wine list in coordination with chefs and the General Manager, • Collaborate with the Wine Director and Head Sommelier on the selections of the wines used in the restaurant for the uses of wine pairings, by the glass, and those represented as bottle selections, • Recommend food and wine pairings, • Be an authority on the wines used in the restaurant for the uses of wine pairings, by the glass, and those represented as bottle selections on the restaurant's wine list, • Advise guests on wines based on their personal tastes and food choices, • Inform guests about different varieties of wines and prices, • Ensure wines are served at the right temperature and within the proper glassware, • Store open bottles properly to maintain strong taste, • Manage wine cellar and ensure it's fully-stocked, • Train wait staff on available wines, • Assist the Wine Director in order to provide education for the dining room staff in the full range of beverages for the restaurant, including but not limited to wine, cocktails, beer, tea, and coffee, • Comply with all health and safety regulations constantly strive to improve operating procedures, • Maintain and monitor safe and sound procedures, • Attend meetings when designated to do so REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS • As a Sommelier, specific certifications are not required, but a strong fundamental knowledge of the wine regions of the world – both Old and New World – along with producer familiarity and vintage knowledge is mandatory, • Experience as a Sommelier, Wine Steward/Stewardess or similar role, • Ability to create tasteful food and wine pairings, • Extensive knowledge of different wines and which regions produce each type, • Knowledge of local vineyards and wineries, • Understanding of the winemaking process, • Good communication skills, • Must have full schedule availability, including weekends and holidays, • Ability to be organized, manage time wisely, and work with little to no direct supervision, • Very high attention to detail, • Sensitive to cultural nuances, • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal in English, • Able to handle a multitude of tasks in an intense, fast paced environment, • Excellent people skills and the ability to work under pressure and with various stakeholders, • Ability to maintain a clean and professional appearance as per company policies, • Ability to stand for extended periods of time, • Multi-lingual is a plus, • Must be able to lift & a carry at least 50 pounds, • Must be comfortable with repetitive motions (such as walking, bending & standing), • Must be knowledgeable of industry critics & awards, • Must be able to take constructive criticism and work well in a team dynamic

The Server Assistant maintains all dining room environment and equipment, assists servers, anticipates guests' needs and addresses them accordingly. This position has an hourly rate of $17.00 + Tips. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Check assigned station before, during and after shift for proper set up and cleanliness Responsible for the completion of designated side work checklists (both opening and closing) Responsible for keeping the dining room floors free of debris and spilled liquids, • Bus tables and re-set tables for the next guest. The Server maintains all dining room environments and equipment. The AM Server is responsible for ensuring the dining room is clean and tidy, assisting guests when they have questions about the menus/wine list, taking guests' orders, anticipating guests' needs and addressing them accordingly. This position has an hourly rate of $17.00 + Tips. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Review menu for changes and specials Always provide excellent service to all of our guests Review your workstation and your mise en place, make sure all is up to par before you start your shift Set tables and stations up to company standards Keep the dining room and workstation clean and organized, ensure that all silverware and glasses are wiped and spotless Take guest food and beverage orders Extensive knowledge of food and beverage to service and up-sell our product, including liquors and cocktails Review soigne/cheat sheet before approaching the table Mark tables appropriately to food order for each course Always confirm order with the guest and double check accuracy of order before sending to the kitchen Follow SOP's on placing orders with allergies and dietary restrictions Set up tables according to hosts' communication Enter all sales in POS without errors.
