The Sommelier is responsible for assisting guests in the wine and beverage experience and also is supporting a cohesive dining experience by working with and alongside the Captains, Bartenders, and Management. This position actively embodies, inspires, & elevates hospitality. We are seeking individuals who have great communication skills, strong work ethic, passion for hospitality, commitment to excellence, who understand the importance of teamwork. Ability to multi-task is a must. The Sommelier will manage the wine budget, inventory, and financial aspects of the full wine list, actively seek guest feedback, responding accurately and adapting as necessary


The ideal candidate will have at least 3-4 years of service experience, be able to handle a high volume/fine dining environment and should have a general food and service knowledge .

Francie is located in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Located mere steps from the nascent Williamsburg waterfront, Francie enjoys a coveted location on a sun-lit corner of Broadway & Bedford. With a sophisticated yet relaxed atmosphere, Francie offers the perfect blend of neighborhood style and luxury.



Requirements


The primary responsibilities for the Sommelier will include but are not limited to:


The Sommelier is the wine expert responsible for maintaining a wine list that meets the goals set by management and for ensuring that proper service of wine is maintained. The Sommelier must have a deep understanding of fine dining and the wine program.
The position also requires excellent people skills, dedication, an inexhaustible love of wine, food, and service, as well as a quick ability to “read” the guest.
The Sommelier is the liaison between the guest and our extensive wine list and cellar.
The Sommelier will have a commanding knowledge of the wine list, a thorough understanding of the menu and how the two interact, and knowledge of all other spirits and beverages offered.
This staff member conducts training of wait staff and keeps them up to date of all changes to the wine list and trains the staff on wine knowledge and wine and food pairing.
Compensation Details
Compensation: Hourly ($20.00 - $24.00) plus tips


Estimated Weekly Tips: $1,000.00
