
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The Sushi Chef is responsible for preparing high-quality sushi, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes while maintaining exceptional food safety, presentation, and customer service standards. The ideal candidate has strong knife skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering an outstanding dining experience.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare sushi, sashimi, nigiri, maki rolls, and other Japanese menu items according to established recipes and quality standards.
Select, inspect, and prepare fresh seafood, vegetables, rice, and other ingredients.
Ensure proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures in compliance with health and safety regulations.
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation throughout each shift.
Monitor inventory levels and communicate ingredient shortages to management.
Assist with receiving, storing, and rotating food supplies to maintain freshness.
Create visually appealing presentations that meet restaurant standards.
Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to ensure timely food preparation and service.
Follow portion control and waste reduction practices to maximize efficiency.
Assist in developing new sushi menu items and seasonal specials when requested.
Ensure all equipment is properly cleaned and maintained.
Provide excellent customer service, including interacting with guests at the sushi bar when appropriate.
