Job DescriptionConsultant - Accountant Location: Suffern, NY Type: Consultant / Contract Pay Rate: $30-35/hour A well-established organization is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting consultant to support CM (Construction/Management) fee reconciliation and analysis. This role will partner closely with the Controller to validate 2025 activity and support 2026 fee projections through strong documentation, research, and analysis. Key Responsibilities • Reconcile 2025 CM fees by tracing and validating activity across supporting documentation, systems, and records, • Perform in-depth AP research and support, including review of transactions, coding, vendor invoices, budget alignment, and backup documentation, • Cross-check actuals against budgets and agreements, identify variances, and clearly document findings, • Support 2026 CM fee projections using historical data, agreements, budget inputs, and known changes, • Prepare clear reconciliation summaries and supporting documentation for Controller review, • Proactively communicate discrepancies, missing data, or unclear items and recommend next steps for resolutionRequired Tools & Systems, • Yardi: Strong ability to navigate vendor activity, invoices, invoice registers, P2P, job cost, GL/AP details, and property- or account-level reporting, • Excel: Advanced skills including PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, filters, sorting, basic formulas, and reconciliation documentation, • Microsoft Office 365: Outlook, TeamsIdeal Background, • Experience supporting AP, reconciliations, or fee analysis in a real estate, property management, or construction-related environment, • Strong analytical and investigative skills with high attention to detail, • Ability to work independently, manage data-heavy tasks, and communicate findings clearly to finance leadership, • Comfortable working in a consultant-based role with defined deliverablesTo Apply: For immediate consideration please email your resume to: christine.kiernan@ lhh.com Benefit Information: Benefit offerings include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits, and 401K plan.
