Oak and Orange Hospitality is looking for a Lead Line Cook to assemble & prep our sandwiches, salads & breakfast during service at our eatery and market in Mineola, Long Island. Great opportunity to grow within the company! Full-time with the potential for part-time. Hours are 7:30am-4pm Monday-Friday for breakfast shift and/or lunch as shift needed. Great work/ life balance! -Has experience making sandwiches, salads and/or eggs in a fast-casual dining environment either in the FOH or BOH (you will be building sandwiches behind a customer-facing line) OR experience working on a line in the front of house.
-Ability to communicate with kitchen staff, and FOH staff
-Prep sandwich, salad and/or breakfast station which includes slicing/dicing veggies, slicing meats, making spreads, dressing & follow basic recipes for sandwich fillings (eggplant, egg salad) etc.
-Follow open/close procedures and maintain a clean station
-Ability to work as a team & plan your day to maximize efficiency
-Maintains a calm demeanor during periods of high-volume
-Responsible and has good communication skills
-Able to stand, bend, and reach for the entire shift
-Lift 30 pounds
-Experience working with a meat slicer is a plus but not required
-Reliable
