We are looking for a Senior Systems & Test Engineer who will collaborate with NPD groups globally to asses customer specifications, derive requirements, and to develop test plans ensuring products meet customer needs, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. Sr. Systems & Test Engineer will collaborate with both in-house and external test labs, oversee product technical risk management, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain quality and compliance throughout the product lifecycle. This role requires familiarity with UL, IEC, and Medical Device testing standards as well as prior experience working with products that meet MIL-STD testing. Building and sustaining knowledge of industry requirements is a crucial responsibility, as well as instilling deep understanding of regulations and certification processes for internal engineering teams. • Requirements Management, • Assess and record product requirements from customer, industry, regulatory, and internal sources., • Derive system, hardware, software, and component requirements for development activities., • Develop and maintain requirements documentation throughout the product lifecycle., • Test Planning and Documenting:, • Design, implement, and execute detailed test plans, including functional, performance, V&V protocols., • Develop test cases for complex systems to ensure all functionalities meet the intended requirements., • Oversee documentation of test execution and reporting., • Maintain traceability from requirements to test plans and reports., • Assist with execution of manual and automated testing of hardware and software systems, identifying defects and ensuring they meet compliance and regulatory standards., • Regulatory Compliance:, • Ensure that all products and systems comply with industry standards, government regulations, and internal policies., • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including external test labs to ensure the design and development processes comply with relevant compliance and certification requirements (e.g., ISO, CE, UL, etc.)., • Participate in the development of documentation required for product certifications, including but not limited to safety, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), and environmental compliance., • Risk Assessment and Mitigation:, • Analyze product risks and collaborate with engineering teams to develop test strategies to mitigate identified risks., • Prepare and maintain risk management documentation (e.g., Failure Modes and Effects Analysis, Hazard Analysis)., • Cross-functional Collaboration:, • Collaborate with engineering, product management, and operations teams to ensure that the product meets the necessary requirements and quality standards., • Be the subject matter expert on requirements and testing best practices in customer meetings, • Mentor and provide guidance to engineers on testing methodologies, tools, and compliance standards., • Continuous Improvement:, • Identify opportunities for process improvements within systems and test areas and actively contribute to optimizing workflows. Experience: • 8+ years of experience in systems engineering, test engineering, or compliance roles., • Expertise in requirements management, risk management, verification, and validation., • Extensive experience with industry regulations (e.g., ISO, CE, UL, FDA, RoHS, WEEE, FCC) and product certification processes. Experience with batteries, power systems testing is a plus, • Hands-on experience with both manual and automated testing tools and frameworks., • Strong understanding of software and hardware testing methodologies., • Proficient in test management tools and defect tracking systems (e.g., Jira, TestRail)., • Familiarity with industry regulations and certification processes., • Knowledge of risk management practices, including FMEA, hazard analysis, etc., • Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly document and present test results, issues, and compliance findings.
