Youth Direct Care Worker (Pediatric Behavioral) Position Type: Full-Time /Part-Time Shift: Days (8:00am-4:00pm) / Afternoons (4:00pm-12:00am) / Overnights (12:00am-8:00am) Hours: 16 / 24 / 32 / 40 Location: Farmington Hill, MI Position Summary: We are seeking compassionate and dependable individuals to provide hands-on care to children and adolescents recovering from brain injuries, spinal cord or other neurological or neuropsychiatric disorders in a residential setting. This role focuses on supporting daily routines, reinforcing positive behaviors, and fostering a safe, structured, and supportive environment where youth can grow and succeed. Key Responsibilities: • Provide direct supervision and hands-on support to youth, • Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including hygiene, meals, and routines, • Administer medications as prescribed and monitor health status, documenting and reporting any concerns or changes Pediatric Behavioral, • Follow and support individualized behavior plans with consistency and patience, • Monitor, document, and report behaviors, progress, and incidents, • Support youth with schoolwork, structured activities, and recreational time, • Build positive, supportive relationships and model appropriate social and behavioral skills, • Maintain a calm, safe, and structured living environment, • Work collaboratively with team members and clinical staff, • Assist with group and individual activities, including structured play and skill-building, • Perform light household duties such as cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation, • Transport and accompany youth to appointments, school and community outings, • Use teachable moments to promote learning, independence, and growth, • Demonstrate an interest in child development and support age-appropriate growth, • Participate in safety management and crisis intervention and prevention Qualifications: • Minimum of two (2) years working with children, adolescents or in a behavioral health setting, • High School Diploma or GED required, • Valid Driver's License from state of residence with acceptable driving record, • Experience working with pediatric and/or behavioral health populations preferred, • Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills, • Ability to remain calm, patient, and consistent in high stress or challenging situations Sevita is a leading provider of home and community-based specialized health care.
