You will provide school-based speech and language services that directly support student access to curriculum and success in the general and special education settings.\nRole and daily responsibilities: Conduct screenings and comprehensive speech-language evaluations for students referred for concerns in articulation, language, fluency, voice, and social communication\nParticipate in eligibility determinations under IDEA and Section 504, providing diagnostic impressions, educational impact statements, and clear recommendations\nWrite and implement IEPs with specific, measurable, curriculum-aligned speech and language goals, coordinating service delivery models with teachers and related service staff\nDeliver services in a mix of formats: small-group and individual therapy, push-in/classroom-based support, and consultation with staff to integrate strategies into everyday instruction\nMonitor student progress using data-driven measures, document services and progress in the district’s electronic systems, and complete reports and IEP updates within mandated timelines\nServe on building-level teams (such as MTSS/RTI and child study teams), offering expertise in language, communication, and their relationship to behavior, learning, and social skills\nCollaborate with teachers to adapt instruction and materials, train paraprofessionals on communication supports, and guide staff on strategies that foster independence and participation\nCommunicate regularly with families, providing updates on progress, strategies for home carryover, and clear explanations of services and supports\nSpecial Education Department strengths: The Special Education Department emphasizes inclusive practices, multidisciplinary teamwork, and consistent procedures across schools.
