This position is located in Delran NJ Summary of Position with General Responsibilities: Performs diversified inspection duties including measuring, testing, and visual verification of chemicals, textile raw materials and subassemblies, labeling and packaging materials, and packaging of subassemblies to determine/ensure compliance to specifications. Reviews device history records and associated documentation in preparation of lot release. Performs environmental monitoring. Essential Job Functions: \n • Performs independent incoming, in-process, and final inspection of textile raw materials and subassemblies including yarns, fabrics, and tubular fabrics to determine/ensure compliance to specifications.\n, • Inspects product labeling and packaging.\n, • Documents results of inspections.\n, • Prepares test samples for fiber ID testing of incoming raw materials.\n, • Operates test equipment including, but not limited to, Thickness Gages, Balance/Scales, Skein Winders, Mullen Burst Testers, MTS Tensile Testers, Rulers, and Laser Micrometer.\n, • Maintains receiving inspection, work in process and finished product DHR records.\n, • Reviews lot history folders for final lot release sign off.\n, • JDE data entry\n, • Assists in writing inspection and test procedures and other documents relevant to incoming/receiving inspection, work in process, finished product and Lot Release.\n, • Maintains work area and equipment in clean, safe and orderly condition.\n, • Participates in safety and GxP assessments.\n, • Performs other related duties as assigned.\n\n Basic Qualifications: \n • Good verbal and written communication skills.\n, • Ability to successfully work in a team-oriented environment.\n, • Ability to make sound decisions regarding product quality versus specification.\n, • Ability to perform basic math functions/formulas, use conversion charts, and understanding of basic statistics and significant digits.\n, • Ability to use linear measuring devices, dial indicators, tensile testers, balances/scales, stitch counters and yarn testers.\n, • Knowledge of Microsoft applications (ex. MS Word, MS Excel, etc.)\n, • Knowledge of AQL sampling plans.\n\n Education/Experience: \n • High School Graduate with at least 3 years experience in a production facility or quality control laboratory.\n, • Experience in a GMP/ISO or Mil Spec environment preferred.\n, • Experience with textiles a plus.\n, • ASQ certification a plus.\n\n Physical Demands: \n • Occasionally requires light physical effort as in periods of prolonged standing, sitting at inspection stations, bending/squatting and/or occasional lifting of light items (i.e. up to 50 lbs).\n, • Ability to handle monofilament and multifilament yarn.\n, • Dexterity to handle small items for inspections as braided and tubular knitted subassemblies (ranging from 2mm in diameter).\n\n Work Environment: • May require some exposure to chemicals used in manufacturing and testing processes.\n At BD, we prioritize on-site collaboration because we believe it fosters creativity, innovation, and effective problem-solving, which are essential in the fast-paced healthcare industry.
