Position: Volunteer Basketball Coach Organization: Team Phoenix (Nonprofit Youth Basketball Program) Location: NYC Type: Volunteer (Unpaid) Why Volunteer with Team Phoenix This role is ideal for former players or coaches who want to give back, gain hands-on coaching experience, and make a direct impact in their community. Coaches receive professional references, leadership experience, and the opportunity to mentor youth athletes. Requirements: • Prior basketball coaching experience OR former high school or college basketball team member Time Commitment: Weekdays: Availability window between 4:30–9:00 PM (after school) Weekends: Availability window between 10:00 AM–5:00 PM These are availability windows, not fixed shifts • Coaches are typically scheduled up to 10 hours per week or less Locations include: Brooklyn and Queens Responsibilities: • Assist with practices, drills, and games, • Support player development, discipline, and teamwork
