The Role We ship AI-powered features that drive measurable outcomes for our clients - 10%+ revenue growth, real production usage, real customers. Agents, LLMs, and real-time data are the tools we reach for daily, running against high-volume data streams in live client environments. This is not a research role. It's backend-focused. You'll own production backend systems end-to-end - from architecture to deployment - and be the person clients trust when discussing technical strategy. You'll work directly with the founding team, lead projects from ambiguity to delivery, and set the technical bar for the team. If you're equally comfortable whiteboarding a system design with a client as you are shipping the production code that implements it - this role is for you. Who You Are • You build production-ready systems, not prototypes, and own the full lifecycle from architecture through deployment, • You're credible in client-facing settings and turn complexity into clarity, • You lead projects end-to-end, turning ambiguity into delivery without close direction, • You're hands-on with agents, LLMs, and real-time data and treat them as tools, not the destination, • You're a builder and communicator in equal measure, as happy on a client call as deep in code, • You thrive in startup environments, move quickly, take ownership, and perform well with limited resources What You'll Do • Own backend product features end-to-end - from customer problem through API design, business logic, AI/data integration, and production reliability, • Partner with frontend engineers, data engineers, platform engineers, and the founding team to ship high-impact features quickly, • Decide what to build, what to defer, and what not to build at all - knowing when a simpler non-AI approach wins, • Build AI capabilities powering our features: LLM-powered agentic systems, workflows, and intelligent automations, • Own what you ship - debugging real customer issues and iterating from production usage, • Lead client onboarding and technical discussions, serving as a credible technical partner, • Set and maintain engineering standards for backend code quality, testing, documentation, and production readiness, • Contribute to technical strategy as an early team member, helping shape the platform and our AI capabilities What We're Looking For Core • Track record of shipping backend product features customers actually used — real systems that scale, • Strong Python engineering skills, with focus on clean architecture, testing, and production-grade code, • Strong product sense - pragmatic build/skip/defer decisions, caring whether the feature works for the user, • Comfortable owning what you ship: on-call, debugging, iterating from real usage, • Experience building AI agent systems, LLM integrations, and data pipelines in production — and the judgement to know when not to use them, • Strong system design skills - balancing speed, reliability, and scalability, • Experience with real-time data systems: streaming, pub/sub, event-driven processing (Kafka, Kinesis, PubSub, or equivalent), • Credible in client-facing technical conversations Nice to Have • Experience in sports, betting, gaming, or other high-frequency data domains, • Previous experience as a technical lead or in a client-facing engineering role, • Previous experience in a fast-paced startup Why Join Us • Innovation with purpose: transforming an industry through technology that makes a real impact, • Continuous learning: we stay curious and support each other's growth, • Trust and excellence: we build reliable systems because we're reliable people, • Inclusive innovation: a multicultural team where diverse perspectives lead to better products As an early team member, you'll have a unique opportunity to influence our technical direction and growth.
